I have played the wii version of this game and like most of the game. Somethings were lacking. I was thinking of buying the new 3DS version and thought I would ask here to see if its worth a buy. Thanks in advance.

Or HM: New beginning xDDD

I dunno, you might like it. It's a huge step-up from the other games in terms of customization, but (and this is just my opinion) it does get repetitive afterwards and the first month is pretty slow. Aside from that it is pretty fun and I would recommend it.

Or, you could wait for Rune Factory 4 which is coming out on the first. It's essentially Harvest Moon with combat and other things like dialogue are better in RF. The only thing that you might not like is the graphics, they're pretty lacking.

It took that long to release the game in other countries? :o

I found the game addicting but not enough stuff was in it. It was more or less a chore.

Yup. EU tends to get the shaft for Nintendo platform games cause come on they don't buy them. They are only just now getting Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor.

I have the A New Beginning and also had the wii version but didn't play it well on the Wii. I have read that A New Beginning is much better than Tale of Two Towns so I held on until New Beginning was released. New Beginning is supposed to be more automatic like if you're holding something and want to go to bed New Beginning will put your item away then put your character to bed. I have read and find that if you are working like looking after your animals or crops your energy will go quickly and you can faint if you don't put yourself to bed soon enough but if you're just walking around in town or in the mountain/forest looking for things to sell your energy will run much slower.

A New Beginning is probably the first HM game I've liked as much as HM64. The first month is awful (it's very slow and you can barely do anything), but it gets addicting once you get to the end of Spring/early Summer. I'd recommend using a guide so you can prepare in advance (or you will need to wait for Fall for some things).

My only real frustration with it (besides the first month) is a lot of the things suck to unlock. From stuff to customize/make to getting people to move in... I felt more like a Carpenter/Mayor than a farmer so bleh. But yeah, I have a video of my farm. I just need to get my kid to grow up, but I haven't had any motivation to play later. I'd like to do a final tour video when my kid is grown up...I think I have everything else I wanted now. Minus maybe one of the vehicles, but ugh, the requirements to be able to make some things...

Spider - A New Beginning was only for the 3DS... I guess you mean Harvest Moon when you mention playing on the Wii.

As for Rune Factory, I never really enjoyed it... I am planning to get Hometown Story though.

I bought A New Beginning when when it came out because I had a 3DS and no games :P I LOOOVE Harvest Moon games, I have about 10 of them. A New Beginning is a really beautiful game. The graphics are really different and customization is really cool for your character. I agree, the first month is like a huge tutorial and there's almost no one in town. But what's so cool is you can choose where everyone in town lives! You move their houses to where you want them. And as more people move in, it gets more fun.

I really enjoyed the game for the couple of months that I played it, but it did get a little repetitive after I got married in the game. I turned into a hoarder because almost every item is essential in large numbers at some point. If you do get the game, raise as many animals as you can as soon as you can, just trust me.

I still play the game from time to time, but I find New Leaf to be a little more fun at this rate. It's a really good game and as an old time Harvest Moon lover, I would recommend it :)

Oh god I didn't even know this was out in Europe yet. I'm definitely going to buy it, but as it is a very time consuming game I won't have time for it now D:
The start is always a drag but it'd get better afterwards. I totally love that you can costumize so much, and omg different outfits!
I usually work towards getting married and then I get bored..

The first month is an annoying tutorial, but the game is amazing. I just wish I could get back into it.

I bought Tale of Two Towns towards the start of the year and I couldn't get into it at all! When I heard others in NA saying that New Beginning was better I got that a few weeks back when it finally came out in EU and I do really like it. I switch it on most nights after NL and play a day or two. Still not past the first month (and still have not mastered how to push my cow in/out the barn without ending up running past her eventually, grrrrr) but I am enjoying the game so far in comparison to TOTT.

It REALLY starts to get better after the first month. I don't know why but Natsume thinks everyone is 4 years old and just can't stop with the crazy amount of tutorials.
