Obviously not going to leave ACNL, but I'm looking for another 3DS game to play.
I want something that is very, very last while like ACNL.
Any suggestions? Also tell me what the game is about :)
Thank you

Hm.. While I dunno what game genres interest you most, I've found that the Harvest Moon series can be pretty hard to put down. xD It's pretty much a farming rpg in which you raise crops, farm animals, (and if you want to), start a family.
Depending on which one you play, different game mechanics and characters appear. ^ ^

I've been meaning to try harvest moon. I may have to give it a go :D

what types of games are you into?

Honestly i can get into anything. But I like things that are generally not too hard.

Agreeing with Harvest Moon, but the first thing that popped into my mind was Rune Factory 4. Not sure if you like RPG's, but Rune Factory is basically a Harvest Moon spinoff with RPG elements. 4 is just the newest one for the 3DS, there are other handheld and console titles.

The reason I thought of it is because next to New Leaf, it's probably the game that occupied me the longest on the 3DS. It's a long game and there's a ton to do.

Harvest Moon games are essentially not difficult because there is usually no solid end goal, similar to AC. You can play forever and do what you want. They do have more of a storyline than AC, but nothing too strenuous. Rune Factory is the same, although with a more in-depth storyline as it is very RPG-like. But has Harvest Moon elements such as farming, fishing, cooking, getting married, etc.

Anyways both of these series are ones that I sink a ton of time into, so if you're into that kind of game I would definitely advise giving them a try.

Fantasy Life was also a good game, I think I got around 100 hours out of it before losing interest (I'm hoping to get back into it but I've been playing AC). But I also didn't buy the DLC, so that would extend the storyline and playtime considerably.

And I don't know if you're into Pokemon games or already own some for the 3DS, but they are definitely a game most people get a lot of time out of. The last version I played was actually Pokemon White, so I can't really say much about the newer games, but might be worth a look.

Thanks for this! I've been really looking into fantasy life & harvest moon. But you opened me looking into rune factory 4

yeah fantasy life is one to get into if you're looking to play long hours, but i also recommend getting the dlc if you plan to play this.

harvest moon games are really fun to play as well;; tale of two towns was pretty fun, a new beginning was ok and there's one that came out that's not even really worth mentioning tbh, and uhhhhm there's a new one coming out (story of seasons) and this one looks promising from what i've seen so you can check that one out yourself B)

Sounds good! Thank's for this :)

I've been playing Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate recently and it's really good. I was turned off at first due to the overwhelming amount of information they put in your face, but after all that is all over and done the game itself is an absolute blast. It's definitely a challenging a game.

I agree with everyone on the Fantasy Life thing. I'm playing it right now and there is so much to do :) It's also quite a relaxing game I find like Animal Crossing New Leaf :P It's a bit like Dragon Quest 9 which I also like.

This.
I feel exactly the same. I definitely don't regret buying MH4U because it's a great game, but I find it hard to pick up for a lengthy amount of time because I don't really understand a lot of it. Hopefully as I progress more into the game I'll gain a more confident understanding w/ everything the game has to offer.

Fantasy life is great! It's seriously addicting, so I'd be careful haha.

The only Harvest Moon games that I've played are the old ones on the DS (Harvest Moon DS Cute.)
I've lost interest in the franchise, mainly because they ditched the old cool retro pixel look it had and gone for a more modern 3d visual.

Nice. Thanks for the more info. I appreciate all the help guys :)

I'm recommending Fantasy Life like others have said!
The world is so massive and you have so much to do in it!
The story is somewhat cheesy though and their are lots of puns in some lives (wizard especially).
It's relaxing as well as you can unwind from the day completing missions or just crafting!
I haven't played Fantasy Life since I bought acnl though which was a few months ago :c

This is... really intriguing, actually. I wasn't interested in the series at all a few months back but it's slooowly been creeping its way into my field of vision, lol. I have plenty of easy, stress-free games so I think I'll bite the bullet and pick this one up, even though you technically didn't recommend it to me. XD Infodumps turn me off games as well but I'm looking forward to the challenge~

Monster Hunter 4.

I don't know how much content is in 4 but judging from the past ones and how much has been added each time, it'll keep you going for a good while.

I'm unsure how overwhelming it might be since I've played it since the PS2, so the explanations tend to bore me for different reasons (because I've heard most of it countless times already) but there's a lot of information in the game as well as online if things go a little over your head. A lot of good resources for info with that game online.

I would personally recommend Kid Icarus Uprising. It has a nice story, funny dialogue, and it's made by Papa Sakurai. It's easily my favorite game on the 3ds thus far.
