So lately my left knee has been more or a problem than usual. I'm experiencing discomfort more often, almost daily if not daily, even on days that I'm not doing anythin physical. I could be sitting around the house and it is discomforted.

I think I prob injured or did somethin to it back in high school, about 5-6 years ago. There was a year where I did both colourguard and 5k training. Maybe I did a stretch wrong, which wouldn't have been the first time. Since then it has only bothered me rarely, but it's always mild. When I used to run longer periods of time I would feel it or if I did miles of walking that day.

A few weeks ago my manager made me work like 6 or 7 days in a row, which is when the discomfort started to be almost daily and much more persistent. I bought one of those ACE velcroe knee braces things to wear at work. I wore it for anywhere to 6-8 hours while I was at work, then took it off when I got home. It helped the first few days I had it, but after that I started to feel discomfort even while wearing it.

Fast forward to now and I still experience discomfort even just sitting at home doing nothin. I haven't been at work for a couple of days now nor have I really done much. It might be cause I bend my knee when I sit at home, but I do that all the time.

I say discomfort cause it's mild, and I know it could be painful. It's just annoying sitting at home on my couch not being able to bend my knee otherwise it gets discomforted. I think I may have gotten repetitive stress injury from working those 6-7 days in a row, but I haven't done much more than walk since then. I also don't know if it's joint or muscle, but I feel like it might be joint. I used to ice it but I feel like icing did nothing but make the area numb. I don't have health insurance so going to see someone is not happening, esp now. Also I'm 21, so it's not like I should be having issues this early in life.

Any advice from those who also have knee issues?

none of us here can diagnose or tell you anything beyond the fact that you have to see a doctor. i felt the similarly to the pain you’re describing and wound up needing surgery. pls look after your health

Oof, I hope it doesn't come to surgery

I should have clarified I was more so lookin for like, pain relief advice if? Like what do people do when they experience somethin similar.

i mean you aren’t entirely sure what it is. i used to ice my knee and raise it to lower swelling, but i don’t know if you’re experiencing that. ibuprofen was helpful, but nothing stopped the feeling until surgery

I'm also 21, and I have pretty bad inflammation and stiffness when I bend my knees while standing/putting pressure on them, is it anything like that? I also need to see a doctor (especially because it might be due to my steroid replacement) but right now I take fish oil tablets, and they seem to help slightly with the inflammation. I'd definitely check in with a doctor ASAP though, as they say knee pain is never normal, and you should still be able to book a phone appointment with all this going on (I have one booked for next week).

In the meantime though, I'd ask your workplace if they can let you do any tasks that don't requiring constant kneeling down, and definitely don't go on your knees when you're at home.
