SO. I am well into the game, my interest has been renewed since I purchased it. And now that I'm more focused on landscaping my town and building PWPs, I'm a little dismayed to find I'm running into problems with my layout! ): I'm pretty far into the game, so I'm VERY hesitant to reset, but I'm finding that the river is very limiting on PWP space. I need some advice on how to landscape & place paths and PWPs in a way that can salvage my layout.

My dream address (it's a work in progress, ofc :P) is 5400 - 2794 - 6753.

Checking out your town right now. I absolutely love it! Definitely inspiring me to pay attention to what my town looks like, haha.
I'll edit things as I go along...so far, I think Hans and Anchovy's houses are are problem. Who do they think they are, moving onto paths like that.

Oh yeah, found Hamphrey's house plot...also moving in on the paths! Rude...
Walked around your town a bit, I do like it, except the fact that there aren't paths to the beach...maybe it's just me, just seems a bit weird, haha.
Willow also keeps staring at me. I don't think your villagers like this new face!

This is almost exactly what I have, except for the river spawn point is a bit south of it. I'll get back to you and tell you what I've done with my town.

Nelly - I tried the villager reset trick for Hamphrey and eventually gave up. That was the spot where he did the least harm, LOL. I'll think about adding some paths to the beach as well, thank you! <3

FireNinja - Thank you so much! I really appreciate it. ;w;

Alright, I looked at my own town, and I've come up with a solution. In my map, the area between the cliff and the river is wider than it may seem. My advice is to make a path hugging the river. You'll have quite a bit of space. Now I'm going to see your dream town, so I can further give advice.

You could destroy some orchards, but I'm not sure if you want to do that. Your south path could certainly be moved up toward the river. I really can't add more.

I think moving the paths alongside the river sounds like a pretty good idea, so thank you very much! :3

Does anyone have any more suggestions? ;w;

Hans' and Anchovy's houses seem to be in the way. I like to work around my neighbors homes. One thing that would look nice is to put a single path walkway through the front of their house connecting to the other side of the path. The left part of your town looks neglected in comparison to the rest of your town aand it'd be nice if you could connect a path from the cafe to the campsite.

Other than that I have no recommendations or suggestions. I really like your tree, bamboo, and bush placement.

Thank you, Lurrdoc! I hadn't considered placing the path *around* their homes. I never meant for them to plop their houses down there, but oh well lol. I had trouble deciding what PWPs to place on the left side, since the Town Hall and plaza are over there, as well as the police station. I'd love to connect the campsite to the cafe but I wasn't sure how to do that with the video screen in the way - though of course I could always demolish it. Thank you for saying you like them! :3 And thank you for your help! <3

Ugh, layout problems is the reason I am so hesitant to put up paths and stuff before I get all of my desired villagers. :(

I like your setup, though. The way the river is shaped is kind of neat. If I were you, I'd just work around it and learn to love it. :p Sorry I don't have better advice than that, haha.

Same here! But I guess I just got impatient, haha. Yeah, the river seemed pretty cool to me when I first started playing, too! And thank you, I appreciate any and all advice immensely! c:

I could definitely see how the river is a problem, but use it to your advantage. You can force villagers to move where you want them to with that little spac.e
