Name one thing you like about Nh that's better than nl

I would say one thing I definitely like more about NH than NL is the fact that beaches being not separated with cliffs anymore (like, that you can now create your own cliffs, but not being forced to have them) and in general being able to do much more with them now. It's a fun thing to decorate the beach, although I kinda wish NH would offer something like beach umbrellas (at this point, I really miss the beach table from NL to be honest).

Loved that beach table! It needs to come back

Crafting is just a literal game changer! Also, the ability to terraform is awesome. And why have we never been able to place furniture outside before? I mean, Public Works Projects were great... but the ability to place furniture outside is just SO. MUCH. BETTER. ACNL was an awesome game and an ENORMOUS step-up from City Living. But ACNH is an even awesome-r game and an ENORMOUS step up from ACNL.

Seriously, it's so weird to think just two main games ago we were at City Living... which is a good game, but feels so... primitive in comparison!

That it is easier to unlock items/island decorations. I can not tell you how long I tired to get the police station and the hamster ball wheel town decoration that's on the front cover of the game. I've had NL since 2013 and was playing everyday till NH and no luck getting these two items I wanted. When I had a friend only start NL a year before NH to see what animal crossing was like and she got the police station randomly :(

Being able to place items outside has been my favorite feature since it really opens up the door for creative ideas ^.^. I love to decorate and I love furniture. While I rather have my tavern inside, outside there is is plenty of room and if not, I can make some adjustments by terraforming (another decent feature even though I’m terrible at it lol).

The graphics. Placing furniture outside. Terraforming. Choosing where houses go. Having more than 10 slots for QR codes. Actual paths. Villagers doing things instead of wandering outside forever. Villagers having cute clothes instead of tank tops. Most things actually.

NH dialogue got a downgrade from NL. And there's not as much furniture which sucks.

Maybe hot take, I enjoyed how they prioritized the look of the game first. If this wasn't the case, there would be such a huge community as well as Instagram islands. There's so many creative things you can do with NH.

The custom design smoothing feature is really nice. I wasn't a fan of how pixelated designs looked in New Leaf when placed on walls or furniture. I wish the amount of pixels were increased, but it's okay.

The ability to break and move rocks.

That villagers can wear dresses that actually look like dresses.

HM... probably how you can place furniture outside and have home storage.... I got NL and I love it but it just triggers me when I have furniture that
1. doesn't fit in my house
2. Don't have a storage unit for
3. WOULD LOOK GREAT OUTSIDE

I like the new feature of placing furniture outside! In NL, I feel like my island was kind of barren and just had a bunch of flowers everywhere. And I couldn’t put a bunch of public works because I was pretty broke in NL XD also, the new feature that lets you move houses! In NL, Kid Cat was literally isolated from the other villagers because he picked a spot where nobody was xD the only thing I don’t like about new horizons is the lack of furniture, interaction with villagers (ie: we used to play hide and seek with them, they could’ve visited our house, etc.), lack of NPC’s (there used to be Gracie Grace, Katarina, etc.), and had exotic and perfect fruits

I totally understand this feeling! I still go back to new leaf sometimes because I miss my town, it was such a great game and came along at the right time in my life so purely for that reason it will probably remain my favourite ac game despite new horizons being a better game on paper.

That being said one thing I prefer in new horizons over new leaf apart from the obvious upgrades would be the overall cuteness:
-while there is the rare exception so many villagers I overlooked in nl are so much cuter in HD some with a design change. I have also found that having non original villagers is no longer a problem because the clothing looks so much cuter! I am loving that villagers can wear dresses and snow gear in a snow storm!! Too cute
