Talk about a good day for DK fans and the virtual console in general.
Where are all the people who said it was impossible for this to happen because Rare created the games, then told me I was wrong even after I posted the proof where Rare said on Twitter that they made the games for Nintendo, which means they can use it forever without legality issues. It's been in the EU store for a little while now but for some reason people still argued it was impossible in NA. But now they're returned to the WiiU, with an added bonus of the Gameboy series as well to the 3DS.
I told you they'd come back to the virtual console. No one listened.

Hey maybe we'll get DK64 when the N64 comes to virtual console.

God damit i JUST bought the original cartridge of Donkey Kong Country 2 for my sister's SNES. O well at least I can play it now.

They can wait as long as they want on DK64, I bought the cart recently myself haha. Still a cool collectable though, yellow cart.

I knew it had to happen sooner or later thanks to the EU eShop having added them a few months ago. But really no one talked about it, after the commotion it caused by being removed from the Wii shop.

Thank goodness.
I dont care about the gameboy ones but the snes are awesome. We havent gotten much Nintendo virtual console lately, im so sick of third party virtual console showing up. The one spot where theyve got 3rd party support it bores me. Id rather have full games than the old boring stuff we already got.

I still have my DK64 from christmas of 1999 ;_____; but i'm an idiot so i'd probably still buy it if it was on VC.
yeah they were all gone from the eshop before I ever even had access to it (only cable internet for years), I remember reading the wiki of virtual console games and being like "why tho" when I saw they had been taken off. At least they're back now.

The plus to buying it on VC will be the lack of the console freezing and also the gamepad play. Probably will be cheaper than going to find the actual cart too.

Ugh I had a similar issue. I never had money when I was younger during the Wii, so I never bothered looking in the shop. Then by the time I was old enough to get my own money for it and had a greater interest in SNES, it was long gone. I'm already paranoid about it and it's only been there for a few hours, but I feel the need to go buy all 3 DKC games right now LOL
Even those gameboy ones get me paranoid.... need before it poofs D:

Not super interested in the SNES titles since I own the cartridges and the Wii VC ones and the GBA ports and... :O

but I am getting the GB games asap. Never played them!

I'm quite happy to see the entire SNES Donkey Kong Country trilogy coming back today, especially when it landed on my actual birthday. Talk about coincidence! I went ahead and bought all three today, and perhaps getting a few of the Game Boy versions later this year.

When I was younger, Donkey Kong Country was one of the games I had for quite a while until I eventually decided to sell them during the early 00s. Back in the late 90s, pre-rendered graphics were the rage, which pretty much made this and Donkey Kong Country 2 selling very well during their lifespan.

I can die happy when they release 64 games on virtual console. Any idea if that is a confirmed idea or if the fans just want it? Because Nintendo can take all my money for that since I still have a ton of 64 games but my actual system is like 17 years old and doesn't always work.

There's no word on N64 coming to WiiU. A while ago there was a page on Nintendo's website talking about NES, SNES, GBA and mentioned N64 but it said "coming winter 2014" but it didn't happen obviously. A little bit ago Nintendo mentioned more remakes for the 3DS and we've already got OoT, MM and Starfox from the N64 that were remade for the 3DS. Personally I'd prefer the vc games but it seems likely they'll do more N64 on the 3DS.

I saw someone suggest DK64 3D a few days ago, I'd be down for that.

It took them this long to add the DKC games there.

Now for the wait for Super Mario RPG.

Once I'm home for break and back with my Wii U, I'm definitely playing DKC 1 and 2! I probably won't have time to play through DKC 3 while I'm home with all the stuff I'm doing haha
