I remember from a long time ago, when I first got AC, something really weird. It was the fishing tourney, and I didnt have a fishing rod yet. As I was walking along the top of the river, I saw a huge fish. It was about 3 times as long as a sea bass, and as wide as the entire river. Does anyone know what it was? I ended up scaring it off when I ran accidentally ran.

What month was your fishing tourney going on?

It could have been a stringfish, giant snakehead or an arapaima.

It was possibly the shadow of a Giant Snakehead as I've only caught that in the river where as I have caught Arapaima in the large pond and Stringfish near the waterfall.

All three of them show up anywhere in the river.

It could have just been a glitch in the game. If you're talking about CF, then it sometimes happens. The game will put the shadow of say, a napoleon fish, but when you fish it up it'd be a carp. lol

It was probably a glitch, which sucks, because I was pretty excited when I saw that.
Then again, the glitches are cool, because they add some mystery to the game

That actually happened to me once too! Except it was while I was working for Nook, and it was around 11 Pm. Needless to say, I never got to see it again.

Haha! I was just going to make a thread about this!
I saw that same shadow twice in my AC lifetime. I almost had a heart attack when I saw it!
I tried catching it both times and missed. I'm pretty sure it's impossible to catch since there isn't any fish that big in the catalog.
Anyway, I like to think it was a whale swimming upstream. :)
