I have no idea what this thing is and how to catch it. Can anyone help me out please.

That's a bug, not a fish! I think it's a... diving beetle? You catch it with a net, though, no matter what bug it is.

Nah, the first time I saw one I was like "what the what is wrong with that fish". If you've never seen a bug like that you're BOUND to be confused!

IIRC, placing them has them in a little bucket. I have one in my fisherman's house ☺

don’t feel bad. it took me awhile to figure out that it was a bug and that I needed a net. there are a few that will be on the water surface like that such as pond skater and another type of diving beetle (forgot its name).
