My hydrangeas look dead :(

I only planted them yesterday around my house and they're wilted already.

Did you plant them right next to your house? There needs to be at least one open space for them to be able to grow.

That goes for any public works project, lake, cliff, fence by the train tracks, river, etc: you need at least one open space between. You can plant them adjacent to trees, though.

Don't feel bad; this happened to me too. I lost tons of hydrangeas because I was trying to border Diana's home with them and didn't know they couldn't be planted that close to something. I also didn't know that if you plant more than a certain amount in a row, one dies or something? I have a chain of 'em and had to break them up with stumps and mushrooms.

I had spent so many TBT bells on those bushes and I killed all but two in my first go, lol.

Luckily I got mine for free so I've not really missed out but gaaaahhh it's so silly! If flowers can do it then bushes should do it to! Hmph

this system is made so people wont try to lock people into their homes by planting a chain of bushes, so the maximum (12 I believe?) is the amount you can plant while leaving some space for the person to exit a small home. its not just bushes, any solid thing- trees, stumps, bamboo- add to the chain limit.

I just plant flowers in the empty spots. itd be annoying to have to walk all the way around to the start of my path to get out, anyways.
