my gates are open ? how do people come in now ?

like the title says, i have left my gates open, i dont really know how to invite people in. my town name is iris just in case anyone finds me

You have to have both added each other out of the game (on the friend part on the DS home screen), then they say they want to visit a faraway town, and if you have both added each other and your gates are open they can visit you.
