My dad threw away my second cartridge

Even if he bought the game, it was still a gift to you. It was YOURS and he had no right to throw away something that was YOURS. If you don't mind me asking; how old are you? Do you think it would be possible to have a discussion about if toys and games are left out, he could in the future ask you to take it to your room or place it in your room for you before deciding something belongs in the trash?

I only say this because it's obviously a boundary issue, and it's very unhealthy for parents to not have any boundaries with regards to their kids, ESPECIALLY as you get older. While still being respectful, it's important that you tell your father that what he did was inappropriate and unacceptable. Obviously, he wouldn't be so thrilled if you threw away something of his, even if you had bought it for him. My parents never threw away my things while I was living at home, but I also wasn't a messy kid; so I don't know your situation :)

I totally agree. I think it's horrible that something was thrown away at all. If it doesn't belong to you, keep your hands off of it. I just meant that it would kind of serve his dad right if it was something that he had paid for.
