My Computer's "Vista-mization"

I am almost done transforming my computer to look like Windows Vista (I don't have enough RAM to run the actual OS... D. But it almost has everything. I just need to change the Recycle Bin and the My Documents folder icon on my desktop to the Vista icons, and I'll be done.

Do you mean the vista transformation pack? Thats cheapo and lame. Not to make the developers feel bad, they're cool and good but I don't like this project.

Honestly anyone these days should have $140 to shell out on something they want, I do, and I'm not even wealthy, I just work.

And if your computer can't RUN vista, just buy a new one, yours is about as useful as a cardboard box right now.

I didn't use the Vista Transformation Pack. I actually had to patch the uxtheme.dll file so I could allow 3rd Party Themes (I think you probably knew that.). Then I actually searched for a theme that looks very similar to the OS itself. I had to get the Vista sidebar in my XP computer (the one I'm on now), the Vista cursor pack, and a Flip 3D like software (I'm currently using the TopDesk Free Trial as of now.). It took lots of time to get my desktop way it is.


Sadly, I cannot afford another computer. I would try to upgrade my RAM (if they have the hardware out there....), but I can't afford that either. I guess I better start saving up!

And what do you mean by "my computer is as useful as a cardboard box?" Just wondering what you meant by that.

Not really... especially for a kid... and buying a new computer.... almost impossible

I don't think cardboard can handle Windows XP or connect to the internet. I've never tried it though, so don't take my word for it.
