So, I kinda wanted to go more (in depth) of mushrooms in ACNL. I kinda explained it in a different thread (cough cough) So now, I want to do more. Let's briefly go over them.

Round Mushroom - this is white and has a round top. They look like giant puffball mushrooms but they're way too small to be that. They are pretty worthless, I use them for decorating my forests especially at winter.

Skinny Mushroom - has a tan body that is thin and long with a small brown head. This is probably what they call, "lawnowner's mushrooms." Something like that. Anyway, let's just see...I thought they were shiitake mushrooms at first. Of course not. They are the most natural looking mushroom (that I think)

Flat Mushroom - has the same colors as the skinny mushroom with a thick body and a huge head that is flat. They...I don't even know what they are. Let me know! They also look pretty natural (what I think)

Elegant Mushroom - ah, so elegant. :] Has a nice whitish body with tan head. This now looks more like a shiitake mushroom. Ah yes, Nintendo was like...shiitake is Japanese so make it the elegant mushroom. Typical. This looks incredibly natural though maybe it can go with spring at some conditions.

Rare Mushroom - hehe. ;] I know it may be like truffles, especially that those are expensive, just like how it sells a lot in Re-tail. I can't help it, it looks like poop. So, yep, only in perfect towns, they are found underground next to a stump or tree.

Famous Mushroom - play the game over music, this is...of course...a toadstool. If eaten, you will play the Mario sound effect of you growing huge and decreasing to your normal size. Enjoy!

All of these are found in November next to a tree or stump. If you have a special stump (a stump with a pattern) then they are found all year as long as they have space to grow. Each day in November, you get 5 mushrooms. One mushroom is a mush furniture. These are a special furniture series that includes a bed, lamp, table, dresser, bureau, TV, sofa, chair, clock, mirror, wall lamp, wall and rug. If you have mushrooms out, then more mushrooms can't be spawned the next day.

You may want to collect mushrooms for the Harvest Festival, as they can be used as ingredients for the recipes.

Hopefully this helped someone, bye!

Also, rare mushroom. Ok, bye!

Oof, someone told me that they want to know what these sold for. Here it is :
Round Mushroom - 200
Skinny Mushroom - 300
Flat Mushroom - 200
Elegant Mushroom - 10,000
Rare Mushroom - 16,000
Famous Mushroom - 16,000

Another thing is that the elegant and rare mushrooms make you have a blushing effect for a few seconds. :]

Okay, :] Also, to be honest, the skinny mushroom doesn't really look like enoki. Thanks for those other ones though!
Oh yeah, the Famous Mushroom is like drugs. Bye!

I have a whole bunch of each type of mushroom.

Does anyone have tips or themes they like to use with them?

Thanks for these interesting informations. I just forgot over the time how much worth the Elegant, Rare and Famous mushroom actually are.

House theme or town theme? If you want them inside the house, they would fit perfectly with the Mushroom series or any forest themed furniture/walls/floors. For a town theme, they would either fit in a typical forest theme or also magical/fairy theme, like as decoration lying around maybe half hidden around trees/bushes or next to flowers.

I used to like to put them around special stumps and have them layed out in a spiral pattern down dirt paths, or around PWPs.

I also had a mushroom park in a forest area, with the Roost, a fire pit, log benches and special patterned clover stumps.

I'd also have them alternate on tiles with four leaf clovers.

There's so much you can do with mushrooms. I love the way they look.

Thanks for your responses! It's definitely inspired me! :)

Though, dumb question, mushrooms left outside won't ever rot or anything right?

I decorate my town with all except the famous and rare mushrooms for their a e s t h e t i c lol! I have a lot of scattered forest areas with lots of trees, I fill in the dead space around trees with flowers, then line the outside with mushrooms to mark off where the forest starts. I also don't pick clovers or dandelions.

I also have plenty of mushrooms in my town. But last year I didn't notice any extra mushrooms popping up in November..
So is there a cap of mushrooms you can have out in your town in order to be able to receive the 5 mushrooms a day?
I might have to remove all of them in order to get the extras?

Not sure the exact amount of mushrooms. I'd say, try to remove most since I left one mushroom by accident and found only 4 new ones. :/

Ahh, that's what I thought..
I'll go ahead and remove all of mine (I have so many!) so I can get even more ;)
Thanks!

I noticed the same thing! I walked all over and didn't find any new ones so I picked all mine up (took an entire hidden storage 1-9 space lol) and new ones started coming up the next day *eyeroll*

I have a gothic forest town and I placed the elegant mushrooms everywhere because they look so good with the theme. The famous mushrooms are a little too bright and colorful for that town. I have the famous mushrooms placed around my brighter, more colorful town! They’re great for decorations.
If you place them inside, do they look the same?

Wow, didn't expect this thread to give me some ideas. Thanks! I might use elegant and round mushrooms during winter, maybe lined up along paths.

The same happened to me when I had my town.
I went a week with no extra mushrooms and I had to remove every single one, which was over a hundred. I filled up storage in all four players houses. LOL

Then I started getting my five a day, one being part of the Mush Set. ^_^

idk if it's just me but am i the only one who just ADORES the mushrooms? i put them all over my town during fall.

Of course! I placed them in my uh...dead forest and along paths during autumn. I put round mushrooms during winter since they're white and elegant during spring. I don't know why, they fit.
