Mushroom questions

I have been collecting mushrooms for quite some time now (for decoration purposes), but only flat, skinny and famous mushroom seem to appear (and I have a good amount of those by now). I understand that the rare and the elegant mushrooms are quite rare, but not even the round one seems to want to show up. Since I only have two special stumps (a Triforce (non-pine) and a flower (pine)) I was wondering whether certain stump patterns can only produce certain mushrooms? Or is it just bad luck? If anyone can confirm/deny any of this, and/or tell me how to get round, elegant or rare (I do have perfect town rating) mushrooms, I would appreciate it very much

It doesn't look like there's a pattern requirement. It just seems like you've got bad luck. Maybe try to get more special stumps to raise your chances?

It's all luck, my friend. I've only gotten fewer than ten rare mushrooms over the past year. You just have to stick with it.

Definitely bad luck unfortunately, there's a round mushroom resting around one of my non-cedar heart stumps with the other more common flats, skinnies and famous ones. Try doing a tree stump farm with a few of them? it might help.
