I somehow managed to convince my boyfriend to buy New Horizons, even though neither of us was very confident that he would enjoy it that much. Turns out, he actually really likes it! We've been playing together for the past month, but visiting each other's islands can get a bit boring after a while. We check the shops, talk to all the villagers... then what?

If anyone has any ideas for multiplayer activities you can do with just two people, I would love to hear them! I made a little flower tic-tac-toe board on my island, and I think it's cute, but it's not the most entertaining.

What do you guys do on your islands? :3

so sad we lost the island games from new leaf, sighs! hopefully they will return soon, cause i feel you on the lack of multiplayer options.

however, the typical games of hide and go seek, treasure hunt and capture the flag are easy to do without terraforming or set up. with a little more trouble you can do pitfall fields and mazes

Unfortunately that's kinda the way it seems to be...at least for me and my friends. It got pretty boring fast and checking shops is about the only reason (unless we majorly changed something to show off).
So many restrictions on what you can't do while someone is there also makes it hard to really just chill in one another's town for long.

The mini games on the island were kinda the big multiplayer aspect I feel like for NL so hoping that comes back to NH...otherwise I'm not really sure what multiplayer value there will be other than quick trades/visiting shops.

make your own minigames! hide and seek (you can hide inside houses and buildings too!!), buy a timer and have a bug/fishing contest, treasure hunt (hide some presents around your island!), obstacle courses using pitfall seeds/terraforming/etc!

my friends and i also just spend a lot of time on one island fishing together! it's fun and we'd be doing it on our own anyways. i really hope the tours come back though, i loved those so much.
