Mr. Flamingo on a balloon?

Hey guys!
So I haven't played much after the update, just a few days ago I discovered there were new items and interactions and started playing again.
But something took me by surprise yesterday. I popped a balloon with my slingshot and the present had a Mr. Flamingo instead of an item from the balloon series
Was that some kind of a bug? Or now the balloons come with random items? Was this just because of festivale?

If you keep poppin them I heard you can also receive Welcome Amiibo items as well!

Yeah, balloons now drop a larger variety of items. It made more sense with only the balloon set being dropped, but this way there are far fewer duplicates.

I didn't know that. Now I'm going to be popping the ballons more often. This also makes me wonder just how much new stuff there is...

Balloons, when having had collected the Balloon Set already, will allow you to gain a wide variety of items.
Some of which are items introduced in the Welcome Amiibo update!

i havent even gotten anything besides balloon stuff OTL i want to get the large tea table

I have had quite a few of campsite balloons, it's strangely exciting lol don't forget though, you only get other items as long as you have the full set of 'Balloon' if one of your characters hasn't got the full set leave package on the ground for the main character to open.

I still have yet to find a new item in the balloons. I still get the balloon set, unfortunately (not my least favourite set, but up there).

I was so tired of getting the balloon set all the time. It's nice to know that there are more of a variety of items but I hardly ever see balloons or I don't have my slingshot.
