Most wholesome thing ever: villagers that have been adopted remember you!

I visited my friend's island tho whom I gifted Merengue and Merengue remembers she moved from my island, and had several dialogues asking me how was I doing, if she has changed since I last saw her, if I wish her luck here and stuff like this. I think it was the most heartwarming thing I felt for these pixels hahaha. its soo nice!

Yea this is also one of the reasons I actually liked adopting non-original / amiibo moved villagers in new leaf. The memories of their old mayor really added a layer into their character

I don't think in this game they talk about their old lifes! Most of my villagers are adopted from other islands and they never mentioned their former lifes. That's why it was such a surprise that Merengue remembered me when I spoke to her!

If only I didn't mostly trade on discord and could track all the villagers that I gave away. hahaha from now on I'm gonna keep an eye for future move outs and check on them lol.

Actually, I think villagers can talk about their old owners. Some people don't seem to like that, but I think it's pretty cool!

They act as if you never met them, same if you with amibo cards. What I find kind of weird is when you visit someone with the same villager and they don't know you, I get is not the same Dom, for example, but it feel strange talking to him on other islands.

I remember when I had Mira, I visited another town that also had Mira and I spoke to her. She said: Hey, Lavulin, whats up! You here too? and then proceeded to laugh and tell me she pulled my leg and that she actually doesn't know me. I wonder if its an uchi thing or all villagers have smth similar to this?

In New Leaf, if a villager went to a new player's village, they'd read the new player letters you sent them. That was always my favorite thing. Does that still happen?
