i feel as if i have cheated my way through the game, time traveling to get all of my money, shops, villagers etc and i am thinking about restarting. i feel like having a fresh start may improve my take on the game, and i will have a bigger feeling of earning. thoughts?

If you really feel that way, I think you should restart. I've had that with my last game, I TT'd quite a lot, not to hasten my shops or something, but it made me feel disconnected with my villagers, since I ignored their requests or did it all hastily. Plus, it made me lose some of my favorite villagers...

So after considering for a few days, you don't want to rush this decision, I restarted my town. I only took like one inventory of items with me (what I could carry in one go) to help me get started, but otherwise, I started completely fresh.

I got a great town map and my all-time favorite villager, Fang! I'd say, it can be worth it for you of you don't feel like you've hastened your way through your game and haven't 'earned' everything fair.

Yeah, I say go for it. If you don't mind losing what you have right now then I say restarting is really beneficial. I don't mind time traveling because I used to do it a lot in my previous towns but I always kind of thought or felt that time traveling kind of took the fun out of the game for me. I restarted my town and now I don't time travel at all (unless I have a villager moving out for another person). So using my personal experience with time traveling, I feel like you'll definitely find it more rewarding too.

A fresh start is good n.n
I may just do that once I have my town fully completed and I'm satisfied, until then I'm gonna make the most of my town while it lasts. Anyway's, once I restart my town I can join in on those challenges to not TT/cheat/etc.

If you're really disinterested in your town, then if I were in your position I would opt to restart my town.

I think you might have some troubles though if you were an avid TT in your current town and plan to not TT in your new town though. If I were to restart my town and strictly not TT anymore then I'd get disinterested very quickly in the game because transitioning from a fast pace of TTing and what not to the intended slower pace of the game might be a lot. To get all the shops updated it would take at least 2-3 months and to get all the villagers you want naturally it'll probably take at least 6 months with how finicky it can be to get unwanted villagers to move out xD... let alone getting all of the publics works projects you want. That said, it's ultimately more rewarding to go through the game without TTing but after you do everything you can in a day, you may get a little bored in waiting for the next day to come.

Fresh starts can be great. The only things I would advise you keep are unorderable DLC things that you can't get anymore, like the pumpkin pie and the afternoon tea set and stuff like that. :)

Beyond that, you do want to think about it a bit. You might even just be able to connect with the villagers in your current town and sort of jump start yourself in your current town and see how that goes first, but that's only if you're interested in doing that. :)

I have experience with this, I actually TTed in my first game. I hated it so I reset, and I'm so much happier now! It feels more rewarding when you try and collect badges and stuff

I lost all interest in my old town and mayor, i hated my map and everything just got boring! 3 days ago i thought stuff it im just going to reset and i will say this now its the best thing ive done in a long time. I now love my map layout, my mayor and the experience of starting all over ^^ i say go for it :D

Go for it! I think earning everything the natural way is the most rewarding way to play. :)

I just recently reset and it was the best AC decision I've ever made. A fresh start was just the thing to get me interested in the game again. I have a really nice town map, and Diana greeted me when I came out the train station. You can get the layout you've always wanted as well.

The thing is--once you think about restarting, it never goes away. If you don't mind losing all your progress so far, I suggest you restart! c:

Like others have said, if you don't mind losing progress go ahead and restart!

If you're not feeling enjoyment from your current save, what's the point? Having a neew town where you don't TT and such feels really rewarding! It might take a while to get a nice new layout that you love, ect. but once you done I think you'll be even more satisfied with it than a well developed town you don't like.

don't put more effort into a town you know you are not going to enjoy keeping. if creating a new town and doing everything legit is a way you'll have more motivation to play, i say reset.
