Meteor Shower questions

Hi all, just a few questions about the meteor showers.

1) If I go to a meteor shower in someone else's town will the star fragments still appear on my beach the next day?
2) Is the amount of star fragments you get random or is it based on how many stars you wish on?

2. In my experience seems to be not but it’s not exact. Like you don’t get one per wish I don’t believe, but I definitely get more the more I wish in general

The amount of fragments is not exact, I spent all night wishing on stars (probably like 300) and only had 20 fragments show up. I think there’s a limit of sorts, so after maybe 40 wishes or so you’ll probably be maxed out. I haven’t seen a set number, but it seems the most people have gotten, no matter how many wishes, is in the 20s.
