I've been reading alot about meteonook and doing alot of research on it but no matter what I do or how much info I put in it can't find my seed, can anybody help me figure out what I'm doing wrong because I've done everything it says I should do. I've put in weather info, shooting star info and still nothing. I'm starting to get really frustrated, is anyone else having the same issue still?

Here is what I typically recommend

Never track the weather for
  • a holiday
  • a Sunday in August
  • any day you add a new player to the island
  • the day you first create the island
  • any day there's a fishing/bug competition
  • any time greater than the first 10 minutes of the hour.

As the hour passes, the current hour's and the next hour's weather begins to mix together. So if not already, be sure your tracking of the weather is during the first 5-10 minutes of each hour.

It's also always safer to guess "Unknown (rain/snow)" if you're not sure if your rain is heavy or not, and "Unknown (No rain/snow)" if you're unsure whether you have cloudy or sunny.

Good luck. Hope you find it soon.

I had this issue, took a while to get it right.

Some tips:
- only put in what you are 100% sure of, some are easily mixed up
- do not use weather from pics you've taken
- only use the weather in the first quarter of the hour to be absolutely sure, as it will begin to transition to the next hour's weather about halfway through the hour
- do not input weather from special event days
- major weather events are good to use, heavy meteor showers, thunderstorms, rainbows
- if you've already input data, go back and remove anything you aren't 100% sure of
- patience, better to take longer using weather you are sure of and get it right
- if you get a list of seeds, or 1, confirm it with the exact timing of a light meteor shower

I didn't input a ton of data for mine, just once a day or so if I was really sure what it was. Good luck!

Oh! Also, don't make yourself crazy checking weather all day. I only entered the weather when I normally logged on to play, and when sure of it. I mixed up the cloudy/partly etc up so did not log those. You do not have to have something logged in for all the times. I just logged one data point, left the rest of the day blank. Had many blank days, and most of the logged days only had one weather entry, and it was not a problem.

I've already made sure of those things, I've followed the advice you and betsy have said before writing on here, so I was just wondering if it's because it's not working or if it's because I just can't do it right. I've been trying since I got the game a few months ago but nothing I seem to do works, I've tracked everything I thought would make a difference but nothing. I guess I'll have to keep trying tho! Thank you both

As @BetsySundrop and @JKDOS mentioned, if you are not quite sure of the weather, use the most basic indicators instead (unknown rain/no rain, etc.). That helped me tremendously when I did mine way back when. It might take a little longer, but it really helps find the correct seed.

Also, if you are not adverse to time travel, that can help move things along if you are spending days in trying to get the right seed. Just remember to jump to the top of the hour though— the weather gradually changes to the next hour’s as the hour progresses.

Finally, when you do get your seed, write it down! If you ever clear your browser’s web data, you’ll lose the seed, and have to start all over unless you have it recorded elsewhere.

I use Meteonook all of the time— it is so helpful to plan when you want to log in for certain weather events/meteor showers/etc. I hope you are able to finally find your seed!

I have done so, I also time travel to find what I would need to fill it in but still nothing, could it be because the game has added more weather types? I'm just a little frustrated because I just wanna know what my weather pattern is, but I guess I'll have to keep trying. Although how do you time between stars? It's really hard when time traveling

Don't time between stars. That's too difficult to do. Just put down the minutes that there are stars, don't do seconds. To be honest, I didn't put any times down for stars, I just said if there were stars. I always made sure the clock was set to a minute or two after the start of the hour, so I could get the true weather for the hour. I think I had to time travel over a month to get it down to one seed, but it's been accurate ever since for me.

New weather types have not been activated in the game yet. But assuming that they are eventually activated, then we all have to get over the fact that MeteoNook just won't have any real purpose anymore. And that will be a sad day, because I love looking ahead and seeing what kind of weather I can look forward to having. I get excited thinking about winter and I'll go look at when I start getting snow and all that... knowing that I won't be able to anymore is disappointing.

I am having the same problem. There have been times that I input information and it will eventually say no weather seed matches what I've put in even when I'm sure I did it right. One time I thought I found it but the weather in my town the next day was not what the seed said it should be. I also could never figure out the timing on shooting stars so I just put in if I had a meteor shower. But I mostly play in the daytime so I tend to miss the meteor showers and I figured the weather pattern would be too hard to determine at night anyway. But this post has inspired me to try yet again. I was planning to tt today in another attempt to get merry to move(so far she has flatly refused) so while I'm doing that I'll also attempt to get my weather seed. Good luck to both of us.
