The logic of room a PWP needs is totally messed up, and I'm getting pretty sick of it.

I'm not allowed to build a bridge because the camp site is in that area, but on the opposite side of the area lies an original bridge which never gave any problems while building the camp site. So since I can't build a new bridge I want to build it back where I destroyed it yesterday, but it won't allow me. The fire hydrant is too close, which is bull because it never mentioned the bridge being too close when I build it there in the first place.

I'd like to use this moment to announce that I'll join the "camp site should become destroyable" campaign.

It's not PWP logic, it's just bridge logic in general that's really weird. Bridges require an additional four spaces in length on both sides of the bridge to be built, yet you can build things in that space if a bridge already exists.

Four extra spaces? I guess I can forget all other plans I had for bridges unless half my town moves out.

I know, it's ridiculous. I get so angry with Isabelle.. u_u
I wish you could destroy the camp site as well, I hate it. I wish I placed it somewhere different. ; ^ ;

lol, me too XD I placed it soooooo far down on my map that camper resetting is a bit of a pain (plus I moved Julian into a nice spot down there thinking I could demolish it and move it, but I didn't know you couldn't >w> )

The bridges drive me mad too. Almost to the point where I don't think I'll even bother to "upgrade" them.

I'm glad I made so many mistakes in my first town because now I've restarted at least I can make informed decisions about placing PWPs etc...

I will never demolish my cobblestone bridges for this reason - I know I could never rebuild where they are now because of the things that are now "too close", like my house (built near my original bridge) and my campsite (and I LOVE the location of my campsite!) Also, if you never demolish your original bridge it doesn't count toward your 30 projects, but I understand that if you demolish and rebuild it then it does count.

It's a shame because it would be nice to switch them out for different styles someday. Oh well, I can live with cobblestone bridges, they're pretty neutral.

I feel the same way. It's funny because I have bridges in exactly the same places (except for the one at the upper right corner, my river's the same shape, other than it doesn't curve upwards at the end so I can manage with two). I love where you placed the campsite too, right by your private beach. :)

I'd love to see your town! What is your dream code?

Aw, thank you for your interest! I restarted my town at the end of November so I haven't visited the dream suite yet... The lower part of town is still very bare, needs lots more PWPs, plus I'm trying to get my dreamies in place~ I can try and remember to PM you once I upload it if you'd like? :)

If Animal Crossing teaches us anything, it's the importance of zoning laws and eminent domain.

The whole zoning thing is ridiculous to me. It's not like cars drive through those bridges. 4 spaces is a lot, and I cannot build a second bridge. So sadddddd. Unless Sally, Filbert or Pinky moves (and I love them all) :'(

at least I can demolish the fire hydrant, they better let me put the bridge back tomorrow...

That campsite's probably gonna give you trouble still, if Isabelle specifically mentioned it. I'm having to move Chief out because of this bs.

Agreed, the campsite is probably your real problem. Another really rotten thing isabelle does -- she will only tell you ONE of the things that is too close. You demolish it, then the next day surprise! There was something else too close! This happened to a friend of mine -- she ended up demolishing 3 PWPs and it cost a load of bells. When I got my 2nd town the very first thing I did was set up my bridges, which I will never change.

I thought bridges didn't count at all?

The first bridge, the default cobblestone bridge you start with, doesn't count. Any additional bridges, including a replacement for the original bridge if you were to demolish it, will count.

I almost think the bridge space requirement is a bug, seeing as you can go ahead and build things near bridges without a problem.
