Alright, I finally beat the game so i'm ready to dish out my review:
<big>Good</big>
1. Many improovements over PH - The game gets rid of PH's blandness and repeditivness, by offering a much better main dungeon than the Temple of the Ocean King that doesn't force you to complete floors over and over.
2. Amazing Music - One of the better of the Zelda soundtracks for sure
3. Alot more difficulty - This game is alot harder than PH, and even Twilight Princess, while it is mostly the puzzles that are hard, there are some enemies that can be difficult to defeat (Example: The second boss), there were many puzzles where I was stumped for a very long time, and just as the developer's said, there are multiple ways to solve some puzzles, which I thought was nice.
4. Sidequests - There are 10X more sidequests in this game than PH, even the Arrow shooting game in this game is better than the annoying and very frustrating one in PH, there are also many sidequests that involve escorting people on your train, and carrying supplies to different places, not to mention the usual heart containers, quivers, and bomb bags, combined with the bunnies (you catch rabbits around the overworld), and the stamp stations (collecting stamps from different stations will reward you with things such as a new shield and a new swordsman move), not only that, but there are also some sidequests that will reward you with force gems, force gems will open up new paths by creating new Spirit Tracks.
5. The overworld - instead of looking at the same old blue ocean for the entire game, the player is treated with a beautiful landscape (beautiful for a DS game anyways) filled with forests, deserts, oceans, mountains, snow, and fields, there are also alot more overworld enemies, which adds to the difficulty a tiny bit more.
6. Rupees - Rupees aren't just useless things you get in this game and never use, they are alot harder to get, and things cost alot more, 5000 rupees for a heart container from beedle (sort of, you have to buy over 5000 rupees worth of things and he will give you it)
7. Dungeons - They are alot better in this game, my only gripe with them is they felt shorter than the PH dungeons, but the Fire Dungeon was the best (non-Spirit Tower) dungeon in the game, the Spirit Tower however, was great, I got stuck there more than any other place. The main dungeons in this game rely on puzzles, rather than how large they are.
<big>Bad</big>
1. Controls - The controls can be a bit flawed at times, when at a station in order to get on your train you have to talk to Zelda, and for some reason I have a hard time tapping her, and often accidently run instead of talking to her, there is also a few times in the Tower of Spirits, where Phantom Zelda won't act like I need her too, often running right into sand instead of crossing a bridge, or instead of coming to me, go the opposite way for some reason.
2. Mic - This game has many uses with the mic, and I was already disliking it the moment I got the whirlwind, constantly running out of breath, and having to continue blowing just to blow away some purple gas, and just plain on leaves in some villages, there is also the Spirit Flute, it can be difficult to play certain songs later on in the game, because you might accidently blow into the wrong thing when skipping a note, by that I mean, let me explain:
Here you have the Spirit Flute
Note 1 | Note 2 | Note 3
Now let's say in the song you have to move from Note 1 to Note 3, if you don't stop blowing fast enough, you'll accidently blow into Note 2 when moving the Spirit Flute, and then you'll fail the song.
There were also times where it wouldn't blow right, but that could just possibly be me blowing to hard, blowing too close, or something with my DS.
3. Spirit Tower (just one certain area) - There is one Two areas in the Spirit Tower, that requires you to go through a completely dark area, with only a few torches to light you way, with many ghosts inbetween, and in the second area that has this, Phantoms, it prooves to be very annoying, and all difficulty is just based off of not being able to see where your going.
<big>Overall</big>
This is a great game, and personally, I think it's better than both Phantom Hourglass and Twilight Princess, but it isn't a perfect game without any flaws, there are many things to keep the player busy, I beat it in about 3 days of (almost) nonstop play, but I did alot of sidequests rather than just only doing the main story, this game didn't exceed my expectations, but it didn't disappoint either.
