It's a weird question, I know.

What are the dimensions on the OUTSIDE of a villager's house? How many squares does a villager house take up?

I also ask the same question for all town buildings.

Villager houses are 3x3. However, they require two blank spaces in front of the house to build PWPs and plant trees/shrubs. They only require one blank space on the sides and back.

Not sure about the other buildings. Town Hall and Re-Tail have cobblestones in front, and I think the cafe is the same size as the player's house? It requires a bit of room in front of the entrance as well.
