Are rusted parts valuable? I've just been selling the ones I find to nooks lmao
as for star fragments I don't really know, but I have traded frags in place of NMTs before and it turned up to be maybe like 3-5 star frags = 1 nmt? Maybe?

Yep, rusted parts are worth a bunch because they are needed for some special DIY(s?) like the Big Robot you can purchase at the Nook Terminal. You can only get them after each time Gulliver appears on your island and because you need 30 for the Big Robot DIY, it could take months and months to save up for non-TTers.
They're not widely useful, but they're important for at least one rare item.

Material worth is different in each community. I’d say in the TBT community sign star frags are around 200k and rusted parts are worthless until someone posts about wanting to buy them. (Meaning if you start a thread saying “Selling rusted parts for X NMT” you’d not likely get any buyers. You’re better off waiting for someone to post a desire to buy and selling to them)
The general consensus on conversion is 200k IGB = 1 NMT = 20 TBT (this is an “at best” and generous conversion)
