Massive DDoS Attacks on Leading Online Games!

I actually don't know what EA is. But apparently, the hacker(s) picked the top streamer on Twitch.tv, then DDoS'd all of the games he was playing. The reddit thread I posted has its top comment as a live update of the ongoing events! As of right now, NA/EU/OCE LoL servers are still offline! I imagine there will be some huge consequences for a massive gaming company like Riot Games to have most of its main servers offline during what is essentially a weekend.

EA is a horrible gaming company. They charge $60-$70 for unfinished games, and their customer service sucks.
Remember the big SimCity 2013 thing? That's EA's game.
The Sims 3? EA's Game.
Battlefield 4? EA's Game.

They also own Origin, a crappy thing. They're trying to be like Steam, but it doesn't work for them.

Eh, guess I don't really play EA games.
Anyways, it seems LoL servers are gradually coming back online. I think tomorrow we'll start hearing more about what they're going to do for retribution (lawsuits?)

Wow lots of animosity towards EA. I might not like some of their practices (the Sims 3 store and it's outrageous prices, and the broken programming of the Sims 3 in general is an example), but beyond that I have literally never played an EA game with much trouble.

Honestly, they don't make bad games, they just make bad business choices about some of them. (Again, besides The Sims 3, all the EA games I've played are finished as far as I can tell.) I've seen people play and enjoy the latest Sims City without any issues, so the online bit seems to be the only downside to that particular game. EA does not deserve the "It's worse than Hitler!" sticker everyone seems to want to slap on it.

This thread has turned into an anti-EA thread xD

I'll update it with further developments on the situation though!

I don't imagine many of us are familiar with DDoS situations enough to do anything but shoot EA with degrading comments lol.

The whole "who cares if it happens to EA" attitude is not the brightest. EA won't lose anything, they will just have the inconvenience of fixing the issue, of which they have paid employees for. It won't cost them any money to fix as their employees that are getting paid anyway will have to deal with it and any actual physical damages that could be potentially done would be covered by insurance anyway.

All in all the only losers here are the people who have paid to play the games and can't, essentially all the hacker has done is upset and cost innocent gamers who paid legitimately to play their games.
