I never understood the obsession with him. Until now, Marshmallow moved into my second town and it was love at first sight. Seriously, I think he may be the cutest thing ever.

Anyone else have an experience like this? (With any villager)

I don't really like Marshal or the popular villagers. Except Diana, she was one of my starter villagers and I loved her!

I remember seeing him for the first time in my friend's AC plaza on his wiiu. I was like "Wow they have such a cute little squirrel!!" I wasn't sure if it was a boy or girl haha. It's just good appealing character design. White characters are somewhat uncommon and looks appealing. It's similar in the MLP fandom, on the toy end of things, usually white bodies are saved for rare or special ones, cus it just looks nice! That and the little frowny eyes are cute.

I already have two smugs in my town, so I'm not hurting for him, but he's def cute. Honestly as an artist I can't imagine calling him "ugly" in the objective sense of the word (I'd believe that more on someone like Chrissy, who's huge eyes may be too much for some people) Marshal is very subtle and I think that's the appeal.

I liked him only a little bit when I first stumbled across him on a website and when I saw him in my friend's town he didn't really stand out.
Later, I hesitantly decided to go after him since I needed another villager to fill a spot and since I sorta ish liked him. ( I didn't know he was so elusive and usually costing an arm and a leg at that time haha. )
It wasn't until I saw him in my campsite unexpectedly that he became one of my favourite villagers.

Squirrels are my favorite. Followed by ducks. I honestly didn't even know he was a squirrel until now. I just get who I get and don't really look into other villagers.

Rosie was super annoying when she first moved in. Couldn't stand her. Now I adore her. I'm going to be really sad when she decides to go. I didn't care for Marina until I visited someone's dream town and instantly fell in love with her! I hope I come across her in my campsite someday.

Yeah, I should update that...I'm getting a new siggy soon
But yeah, if there were a new horse villager, I'd say it'd be Juliet, a female version of Julian. lol.

I had Julian, and I would have preferred him as a girl. Some things he said I would just kinda look at him, re-read his dialogue and say "They should have made you a Julia..." He was adorable though.

I got Marshal as one of my first villagers in New leaf. I knew him as 'Jun' at the time. I had no idea that he was popular... I just really loved his personality. I had NL on the date of release so therefore the hype hadn't begun yet. Marshal's texture is quite impressive, seeing as the previous squirrel textures I was never a fan of. The colouring did contrast nicely and mixed with the added hints of dialogue, he has become my next favorite villager next to Rowan and Tybalt.
