Hello! I've seen many people with cute pixelated signatures. I'm curious as to how you guys make them. I've heard of the site to get the sprites themselves, but what about backgrounds? Do you make them yourself? If so, could you recommend any programs to make them in (preferably free.. ^^; ).

Sorry for all the questions. >> I've been lurking in the Trading Plaza for a while, and a lot of posts require signature proof to pick up a villager.

I've seen some people that just find the pixel backgrounds, and some that make them themselves! I suggest searching around if you'd like to start out, and then move on to just experimenting!

If you search around, you can find sites with pixel backgrounds, you could probably even use a photo you like or something to do it and crop it to make it the size you want. You can search for pixel borders and other embellishments as well. I don't have one but that's what I'd do.

I personally have Photoshop, but if you want a free program get one that uses transparency so it's easier to place the villages without getting an ugly white square around them (and so that if your signature has any special borders and not just a square/rectangle shape, you won't get white bits around it). Paint.NET and Gimp have that feature and they're free, if you're just doing basic things with it it shouldn't be so hard to figure it out and find tutorials for it. I don't know about many that you can use directly online though but I know there are online image editors if you don't want to install a program.

Agreed with the above. I made my current and previous signatures using Paint.NET and a background, etc, that I simply searched for on Google.

That's really helpful! Thanks for the suggestions.
