Making a Mule

Animal crossing has become extremely tedious for me the last few weeks. I've maxed my storage, and my island feels cluttered with all the stuff I have sitting out that I don't want to sell, but want to trade away. I can't keep a 5 star rating because things are always everywhere.
I'm considering making a new account on my switch and having him be a mule, basically all he does is pick up stuff and put it in his house/storage.
How do other people feel about it? Is this kind of cheating/cheesing, or would you think it's acceptable?

I don't think it matters. People took advantage of the dupe glitch by making another character which is the actual cheating in my book lmao

OMG LOL I do this!! I'm guilty of being a hoarder in game haha I use my bf's account as a mule but it's also a chore imo because to have redd ya gotta update that other account too but my bf is mia most of the time soooo it'll come down to if you wanna put in the work or not ^^ There's also the thing about keeping a town 5 stars. If you have all the LOV's you want is there any other reason you should keep it 5 stars?

Even if it wasn't acceptable why would you care so much about it and what other people would think? If you need space then you need space it's as simple as that. People create multiple characters all the time even if they're the only one playing the game.

Simply creating a new character isn't grounds for cheating. The game allows that so it's fair game. Things like the duping glitch where the game and the devs obviously did not intend for it to occur is cheating in my book

I only have on LOV, so that's part of it. second, it just looks bad with junk everywhere!

It's because I'm conflicted on the idea. I wanted to know other people's thoughts on it to help make my decision. It's a personal choice not to cheat in games (when playing seriously). And I couldn't decide if making a mule violated my personal guidelines. That's why I asked for opinions.

Making another character to hold items isn't cheating. A lot of people make multiple characters for themed houses and it was definitely common in New Leaf to have a mule just to hold the custom paths placed on the ground. It's only cheating if you're using it to dupe.

That's right, themed houses! That's obviously intended by the devs. That pretty much seals it for me.

What do you mean by updating the other account?

My bf moves at a slow pace and i think i read you have the other account have a certain amount of bugs, fish, and fossils in the critterpedia for Redd to spawn on the mini beach. unless i'm wrong then disregard the updating thing lol
OH i think i also meant like making the money to make the house bigger cuz you gotta do that all over again for the 2nd account and omg I swear I was heva broke at one point from helping him lol

I don't see it as cheating to create another character as storage, but if you really feel bad you could just sell a whole bunch of stuff in your inventory. I was too lazy to create another character and found that a lot of the stuff that accumulated in my storage I wasn't even using. If you want to trade away you'll need to look through a lot of people's wish lists.
