When I started up my town today, I looked around to look for Lucky to see where he moved. Didn't have to look very far.

That is literally the most inconvenient spot to move onto; right onto the path, between my house and the river, onto my little row fruit trees. That's one of the most traveled paths of mine as well, so that sucks.

Then I vaguely remembered the plot reset trick, so I did it. But apparently you're not supposed to start up as your mayor. Even worse, he's one of the villagers I want in my town, so moving him out isn't an option.

Anybody got tips? I don't want to resort to the "Hold My Villager" thread due to school and busy schedules.

Maybe try moving some paths and bridges around? It may seem like a major pain but Julian moving in kinda messed up my bridge/path situation and I had to move stuff around but it eventually turned out kinda nice.

Honestly I've had the same issue and just work around it. Rearrange and all. Sorry this happened, it really sucks.

I am so so sorry. This has happened to me - two of my dreamies plotted right in front of and in back of my
Mayors house. I had just enough room - one open space extra - for them to move behind my mayors house - where my perfect fruit tree was.

I am so sorry. I have Lucky. My only consolation for you is that you could turn him
Into a head cannon of your mayors "assistant" and that he lives close by to assist you in developing your town.

Trust me, I feel like everybody has had that happen before. I know it's happened to me with several of my favorite villagers. I remember Stitches being right behind retail, which sucked but was hilarious to me.

The lesson here is to learn from your mistakes, and remind yourself to remember your plan for next time. As for now, I'd recommend trying to work your way around it. Maybe move the paths, move around the bridges etc.

Is there any way to wind the path around the other side of your house? Like, it would start at the bridge, go behind your house, to the right of your house, and then back in front of your house? You could also add stepping stones (so, a 1-tile wide path) where your old path was (in between your house and Lucky's) so you'd still have a direct path stemming from the bridge.

lol sorry dude. And that is why you always do the plot reset trick when a villager is about to move in.

You will have to rearrange things. Put the bridge to the other side or something. I don't really know the convenient spots on your town.

I would really just try and work around it and always remember to plot reset in the future. It's a pain and takes a lot of time but at least it avoids being in situations like this. I had the same issue when Whitney moved in, completely forgot I was supposed to plot reset and she was locked in just between my cafe and my river....managed to work with it, placed flowers around her house and put a path either side at the front. It really was just a terrible spot but I got it to work.
Can you move your bridge over to the right? And then just rearrange your paths? Assuming there's a space next to the villager house. If not, just try another part of town and figure something else out for that little area, small pwp like a streetlight or something, or put a flower display there maybe

Yeah, the only thing you can do about it is plot reset. :(
Unless you want to challenge yourself and rearrange your paths so they look nice :)

I'm sorry that happened. One time in my old game Marshal was right in front of a bridge (didn't know about plot reset) and I decided to kick him out. I regretted it ever since ;-;

Now I plot reset each day if I don't have 10 villagers to make sure the new move in isn't in a place that I don't want. If a dreamie does the same thing as Marshal long ago, instead of kicking him/her out I would rearrange things...

Oh god yeah. A villager moved right in front of my path, which is annoying, but of course it had to be Portia. I wasted so much time and bells moving my path and bridge so I could keep Portia
