Hi folks - just a quick hello! 
I'm sure you're going to be overrun with newbies in the weeks/days/months/ to come. 
I've been playing WW since early 06 I believe and it's still one of my all-time favorite games! I just got my 60 year old mother playing and she's as obsessed with waiting for NL as I am! 
Anyway, this looks like a really great community! I have CF but never really got into playing because it was such a pain to type letters and I love typing letters to my villagers.
However, the excitement and anticipation for NL is so high now I think I might have to fire it up again and give it another go just to have something different to play for a while! Not to mention gorging on all the caps, videos and info provided by the lucky folks in Japan playing the game!

I think it's awesome you got your mother into playing Animal Crossing. Wish I could...then I'd always have someone to play with because I know she'd become obsessed. : p
