When we have added eachother me or you have to open the gates with internet and let 'all or everyone" enter (sorry I'm French so I don't know what the monkey is saying for you) but don't open for bestfriend only because we aren't best friend yet! ^^
Then I'll be able to come and trade with you when we finished you can close session (it automatically close your gates) or I just go myself in my town ^^

When you turn on the 3DS and you see all the program icon, you can see a little red box with a smiling face
Click on it
you must activate the wireless on the right of the 3DS too (push the button to the top and you can see if internet is there on top left of the top screen)
then you see your own mii, you should see your own friend code ^^
