Just got my amiibo card for Flora the Flamingo to bring her to town, she is so cute and I am so hype. She says to me, "It's me, you're favorite OSTRICH!"

Now I know that she is a part of the ostrich villager group but I don't think it's up for much debate that she was intended to look like a flamingo so I'm legit sad that Nintendo couldn't have just let her be a flamingo in dialogue too? It isn't a huge deal to me but it would have been a nice touch in my opinion. Like Drago is a dragon but I'm sure he's just another gator by game logic.

Just disappointed by this. :(

Any of y'all feel that some minor little details could have enhanced game play for you?

Side note, still in love with Flora and excited to have her. She's just a confused flamingo, that's all.

Not the biggest deals to me but did bother me at first: no silver tools (I liked the silver tools tbh), and golden slingshot only has 1 pellet instead of 3. Makes me worried golden tools have lost their unique abilities and just last longer than regular tools, which means I'm not really going to go for them in this game.

Also the cliffs being really short is kind of strange, with our characters being the same height and the buildings being taller, but it's not too much of a big deal I guess. I'd make a 4th level if the game let you up there, but if you shoot a present onto the 4th level then it's stuck there lol

I agree about the golden slingshot! I was actually surprised that it only shot one projectile this game!? Also I would like teller cliffs because I was gonna line up some climbing walls along a cliff but the climbing wall being taller than everything else in my game bugs me...

Yeah I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks this for the slingshot and cliffs! I think the cliffs being shorter is tied to the ladder or terraforming, maybe it was difficult to code or animate? I'm not sure but I wish they were taller, they were huge in past games, and I liked that, it felt mountainous (if that's a good way of describing it). The single tile you have to leave between two cliffs sucks too, otherwise I would've just built really tall cliffs, it feels like a lot of wasted space since I'm not going to put anything on those tiles.

Other than that I'm enjoying the game a lot! The Flora dialogue is unfortunate too, maybe they forgot about it, since this game has lots of cool tiny details.

Yeah. While I'm a little salty about some minor things I'm still loving the game but everybody probably has some sort of gripe. I really like that we have the ability to climb the cliffs however I still wish they were taller for multiple reasons. I like the feeling of living in a little valley on a mountainous island or plain. Gives me Jurassic Park vibes for some reason and makes me feel more remote which I feel should be the case on an island, but I'm sure they tried really hard with this game, took years to produce so I can't complain too much! I'm having a blast!

Being able to extend or reduce the size of beaches would be a great "quality of life" addition. I understand why you can't extend further into the ocean, but I think you should be able to shape the waterline to look nicer...and of course, extend the sand itself into the area where your grass is. It's true, you can get the "sand path" construction option...but that is not nearly the same thing.

Ooooh yeah this woulda been nice. I'm mostly happy with my beaches although I dunno why, the secret beach kind bothers me because it feels outta place. I'll probably do something to make it a nice place to visit but if I had the option I might just erase it from my island tbh.

One minor issue I have is the pathing! I wish there was a way to get rid of the fuzzy borders, or have pathing go all the way up to buildings instead of leaving a border!

It's the dumbest thing in the world to other people probably, but i'm jaded by the way they designed the football fish in this game. Even wild worlds had more character and charm. I think this one looks like a miserable deflated fish with a bland face.

It's depressing to have it in my home as decor now. Before I loved the teeth. Ik there are so many different types of anglerfish, but I did prefer the fiercer look. Cute touch adding the males attached to her though, also the option to use the esca as a lamp.

The catfish, another pet staple of mine, also looks kinda bizzarre/too skinny now.. Big shame. The goldfish not being in classic bowls anymore? not a fan. Also hate how they got rid of isopods and lobsters too. What were they thinking? Whatever.

The fact that the fish tanks are still so pathetically small bothers me. I’d like to have little aquariums in my house but it feels cruel to keep the fish in tanks they don’t even have space to turn around in.

Also, the oarfish in the museum. It just floats there, never moving, no animation, nothing. Looks like Blathers stuck a pool toy in there.

That's why snapping turtles are my favorite animal in this game- they aren't in a cage at all! I feel so bad keeping them in those tiny tanks too ;-;

You can't sit down next to a villager and talk to them... now that you can freely put benches around i feel like this is something you should be able to do
also related: can't sit down in front of a vanity and use it

yeah the snapping turtles in this game, they hit it out of the park with that design. Same concept as the nintendogs figurines from the older games. I love free standing pets. and the fact the snapping turtle is animated is amazing.. I also still love the hamster cage and birdcage.

BIG agree about the vanity thing. Very annoying.

I wish the villagers would interact with the books I leave out on that tables and not pull one out of their pockets.
Oh well...

I was hoping the cooler you get from the fishing tourney could be used to store actual fish...but it's for changing clothes. Lol. I placed it on my beach, against a palm tree. And it looks nice there, but serves no practical purpose. I thought it would be nice to keep fish there while I was mass-fishing...but, that isn't the case. Hahaha.

I had a dream that I crafted an item that is very similar to bait in the way you sprinkle it in the water: water dye! Want a pink river? Water dye. Want a purple pond? Water dye! If you put it at the head of a river, it would slowly spread until the whole thing was your chosen color. Yeah.

I got a floor sign and now I want a water puddle you can put on the ground. Imagine the animals saying, “That water puddle never seems to dry!” And it would be customizable so you could have spilled milk, spilled juice , etc.

If you have more than one power pole close enough to one another, game ought to string wires between them.

That’s it for now.

Oh, yeah. And we have Nook PHONES, right? And everybody on the island has one. So, why can’t we call animals? I mean, they’d be rude about it, but still.

I can think of a few.

  • Better pocket organisation. Even a sort button to rearrange everything would be nice. I know other games didn't have this, but it would have still been a nice new feature to add.
  • Not being able to select a quantity of items from your storage, so you can't just take a 1 out and keep the rest, no, you have to take the entire thing, separate them 1 at a time and put the rest back.
  • Not being able to buy multiple items (like a shirt, but also wanting another shirt at the same time) from Able Sisters and having to keep going back into the fitting room every time.
  • Early game being so restricted on space that you can build things that you're forced to put things on the one small patch before you can get your vaulting pole.
  • Being unable to build bridges in the places they'd look the best in because the land isn't the right size, yet not being able to do anything about it until later in the game when you get terraforming.
  • Not being able to craft items in quantities, or buy nook mile tickets in quantities.
Just a few off the top of my head.
