In HHD it seems it'll go by incredibly fast so I'm going to limit myself to get full potential of the game... how are you going to play it? Are you going to go all in or limit yourself too?

School shop etc. - 2 days span
Hotel - 4 days span
3 or 2 villager houses - 1 day span + finish or start buildings
And on Saturdays I might do a villager go-back and improve houses if I want!

What about you?

I've also thought about how I want to limit myself. I wish I had the will power to choose one villager per day.

I doubt I'll be able to hold myself to that. At least there isn't a schedule of a calendar of the town always pushing forward in time.

Maybe one villager in my town, and have fun seeing other peoples houses with the Dream Address type feature.

I'm curious what others are planning to do to hold themselves back!

I won't bother lol, I'm gonna try and do as much as possible when I can play.

I'm a stay at home mom with waay too much going on for me to worry about how fast I'll play the game lol I'll be lucky to get an hour 1/2 in every day -_-

Your plans for self-discipline are amazing. It'll definitely help spin the game out longer for you, since it looks like you can spend 30-40 mins focussing on one house, plus you can go back and re-design/add extra rooms.

I've taken a week off work to play, so it's going to be a week of excess! Sweet, delirious, sleep-deprived excess.

Thank you! And haha. The game looks amazing so it'll be worth it!

Limited time to play any game & as I am still wanting to play acnl, the time for HHD will naturally be limited - hoping to play daily tho.

I'm not even going to bother trying, because knowing me, "Just one more house" will turn into me playing at 4 in the morning and sleep deprived! I wouldn't mind it going by fast- I want to enjoy it, but I'm not even close to being finished with any of my New Leaf towns, so it will be good to get a little bit of both in each day.

As much as I want self discipline from day 1, I think I will play as much as I want for no more than 7 days. Then I'll get the binge playing out of my system, and then start the self discipline.

At least that's how I am planning right now.

I just hope we all don't burn out super fast. I hope to see everyone's creations for awhile. :)

you'll have 400 houses that you can expand 3 times plus facilities that you can change whenever you like. i think you'll be busy for quite some time without restraining yourself. also it takes quite a while to make them look nice. there's always online feature too. I'd say don't worry about it and just do stuff whenever you feel like it.
the facilities unlock some useful furniture tho that you might want in your houses, so dont do them at the end of your run ^^...
have fun

I'm getting way ahead of my studies for the sole purpose of binge playing next weekend. After that, I'll be taking it slow, but not because I'm purposely limiting myself tho, lol.

Still, see where everyone is coming from. It's probably a good way of doing it, but I'm far too hyped to limit myself at this point. xD

I'm gonna just binge on the game for 5 days first xD

I think one can do updates to villagers' homes. Same with the community projects. So, the creative people behind the scenes thought it through.

I imagine I'm going to focus on making each villager's house—exterior and interior—look pretty sharp. My sense in designing will likely be functional before stylish.

I have watched numerous uploaded YouTube videos from Jennifer Christensen. One villager's house I would handle differently is Kitt's. That's because the kangaroo has a child and the outdoors calls for serving both Kitt and her child. And I thought that Jennifer should have selected an area that was really big. So, that's the type of decision I would make with someone like Kitt.

The point: Watching the videos, and seeing some uploaded pictures of players' completed works, for "Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer" stimulate my imagination.

It'll really depend on how many commissions I have going on at the time, as well as how tired I am. My desk chair is pretty bad but bills mean I can't quite afford a new one yet, so when I get tired of sitting at my desk I go play video games.

that's the point of this game. everyone can handle a design challenge differently and make their own ideas work that others might not agree with. she doesnt like this particular kangaroo anyway so ^^; :P

Haha well I think I'll binge when I get the game, then taper off to a more sustainable pattern (gotta get some sleep eventually!). What I'm trying to limit myself with is buying a ton of the amiibo cards. I want to buy them aaaaaaalllll! *o* Maybe I'll buy a few packs every month to have something to look forward to :)

I still have so much to do with new leaf, depending on card pricing am going to try to get as much as I can at release and then week after in oct when I have more money, my sisters bday is this month so..I'm definitely going to check in at the store tomorrow and see if they think need reserve and know anything about packs as amazon isn't selling card packs yet I also have a best buy coupon so will check there too..so much was or is being released the next two months in DVD tv and video games plus weather is changing so that means clothes plus your right time..it's taken forever with my project for new leaf so maybe going broke over it when won't have time will just pick up whatever they have monthly unless can find booster bundles. Sorry that was a lot but likely knowing me I will get all I can at release anyway.
