Lilies of the valley, but only a 4 star island?

I'm so confused...today when I was going around my island collecting my fossils I found the lilies of the valley flower on my island. I quickly ran to Isabelle to see if my island was 5 stars since I thought that was the only way you could get it, but I'm still only 4 stars. Was needing to be 5 stars false to get this flower?

Your island was probably 5 stars when the day crossed over and you did something or dropped something on the ground(creating clutter) to reduce the rating again when u talked to isabelle! Did u do any remodeling or have tons of stuff on the ground before u talked to her?

I did a lot of things over the weekend to improve my island, but during the week I've only been checking in..like seeing what's in the shops, getting my money tree, etc. So I haven't taken anything away since I was last on

Yeah, It's probably this. The 5 star rating is sensitive and easy to loose, so it may come and go if you're not paying attention

Thats weird. Maybe u didnt notice the flower the first time around when it spawned? Because thats what happened to me and once i cleared all the cluttered items on the ground (including diys and turnips and furniture) it went back to a 5 star island!

This actually happened to me too. I saw one and immediately ran to isabelle but she said i had a 4 star island. I have had tons of things dropped on my island for months so it didnt make sense for my island to even be a 5 star island for a while.

Yeah, I honestly don't think my island could be 5 stars. I still have a lot of areas to decorate. So it was a surprise when I saw it

You don't need that much to get a 5-star rating.
My Island was very barren and I got a 5-star rating on April 25th.
It's still nowhere near "complete" at this point.
A 5-star rating doesn't really mean that your Island has to look pretty or picturesque in any sense of the word.
"Placing" furniture outside helps as well as planting flowers and picking up items (if you have things like DIY Recipes or furniture items dropped then they will count against the rating).
I remember at one point I thought it would look cool to scour some loose cherry blossom petals on my rocks and the moment I did that, I was lowered to a 4-star. I picked them up and immediately went back to 5-stars.

Ok so I just added a bunch more things around my island and went to talk to Isabelle and yes now I have 5 stars...I still dont know what I took away from yesterday to today to have it drop...i really dont do much on weekdays to my island
