Justify getting rid of unorderables you wont use

I know what you mean. I have dumped all that stuff on my secret beach, because there's no more room in my closet... I can't see myself ever using the snowman set, or the egg set...but I'm still hanging on to them... I set up a small museum in my back room for single unorderables, like the nintendo toys, lovely phone and whatnot - but how often do I actually go there? Almost never.

Ahhh!! I know exactly what you mean! I have my museum filled to the max with sets I will never use like the gorgeous set and the ice set but I still think that maybe I will! X_X
I completely understand what you mean - I'm a big hoarder too heh.
But if you really, really think that you won't need the stuff later, why not sell it? Some people might really want those items. Plus, the IGB/TBT you receive in exchange can be used to buy things you really want!

Yeah I'm kinda like that, but often times now I just content myself with having the unorderable in my catalog. There is proof that I had it, so I'm good lol. But I do have museum rooms filled with stuff still. Selling unorderables for tbt is a pretty convincing argument to get rid of them though haha.

oh my god yes. im a big hoarder and because of this, my town was literally like a landfill last time. id always thought that what if i decide to change the theme of my room and the furniture stored in my closet will finally be put to use. furthermore, it took me more than 3 hours to actually clean my town and categorize each item. had to move some into my second town as well.

Yup! I'm exactly the same way! All of my storage (and even space outside in my town) is completely clogged in random unorderables, and I have a really hard time trying to let any go. Even rooms in my mayor's house (blocked off with furniture so guests/villagers don't see it) are completely filled to the brim with unorderable items. The only way I can justify making room and getting rid of any is if I can sell it for TBT or know that I'll never use it no matter what.

I feel you. At one point, I had my entire beach and museum filled up with stuff and even all my side characters had full closets. It was crazy. Eventually, I slowly started to get rid of things starting with clothes, then furniture, etc. It gets easier if you do it step by step imo. I do agree selling them is the best way to go or maybe do a giveaway? Anyway, do what's best for you. 
Sup Corrie, I also am a hoarder. I've hoarded a decent amount in my time but i'm starting to recover from it realising I don't need all this stuff LOL. The way I put it is, if I know i'm not going to use them why do I need them? they're just taking up extra space. Or I just put them in my museum for all eternity. No but seriously, if you're pretty sure you won't need it or want it in the future do get rid of it, chances are when you get rid of it you'll realise how much you didn't need that item.
I'm the same way. I keep most of my unorderables crammed into my four museum rooms. Some of the stuff that I bought from Graciegrace is still wrapped up sitting in my museum. Even though I don't know which is what anymore, I still keep it all wrapped up to save on space. Maybe someday I'll unwrap it all and sell what I don't need.

same here i also a hoarder and it was terrible at a point. I basically just stuffed everything i hoarded into my closet and my four museum rooms and it wasn't even enough. I even had to litter my town and the beach. It was really messy and terrible. Seriously though, the developers should really implant the feature of making each closet have their own space instead of making all the closet share bthe same space ugh. In the end i had to sell them to retail
I'm a hoarder and I dont even care. My dresser is full, my house is full, my museum is full. I will never want for anything lol. I'm glad I'm like that because it's made me bells and let me trade for things I didn't have that I wanted more than the item I already had. So that's how I justify it. If all my items were bells I would have an ABD by now.

lol If something doesn't look good in your house, why bother keeping it? I usually just sell event furniture because most of them look horrible imo. Great way to make a little money. 
Also, you guys should take some time to organize and do a little spring cleaning so you have some space in your drawers, house, and wherever else you store stuff (hopefully not on the ground!).

I used to hoard all that stuff, but now that I'm a member of this forum I sell it because I can always buy it again from here if I need it.

I have extra towns and players houses to place the event furniture. I'm not getting rid of the snow stuff, bunny days and creepy stuff. All the items that Isabelle gave me during the year went in the trash because you get them next year.
With the snow, bunny and creepy it turns into repeats the following year. Very annoying but think they did this so players didn't TT to the next year and get another set a lot.
I use all my extra players saved mail and store most of the Gracie clothes and HHA items there. My museum has a walk in closet for Gracie clothes that I like and another room for some clothing. The other two rooms are an island room and a spa/bathroom.
The Brewster gyroids are stored at Club LOL.

Yes, half my closet is filled with things I've collected and know I can't get again (without buying from other people). I'll get rid of unorderables that I can potentially get again without a problem. Other than that, I stopped decorating my house and started using my house just for storing bush starts, ore, perfect fruit, mushrooms, handhelds, and probably a bunch of other non-furniture items on the floors.
