Buying Just started: Looking for a Slingshot and Axes

I hope I have posted this in the right place, new around the forums.

So I have just recently got my 3DS and New Leaf

The trees around town blocking my paths etc are doing my head in.
I am sick of waiting on the Garden Store opening so I am looking for a few of Axes to get rid of my trees and start from scratch

Also
Nooklings is not playing ball and refuses to stock a darn slingshot
This is not priority though as I can use my net (but is pretty annoying)

Also being new here I don't know how this goes, exchange friend codes? How does the actual sale take place? X_x

I don't have many items, but I have bells, various fruits etc I can trade for these items

Any help here is greatly appreciated ^^

Also I am breeding hybrids, any tips? Diagonally / Next to each other etc?

To tell how it works: ya make a deal with another member. Then you exchange friend codes add eachother on you 3DS's. then decide who will go to whose town to make the trade. After the trade is done whiever came leaves(or the host can end the session )
Also you have to upgrade nooks store before it sell slingshots(idr the first stores name so idk if youve upgraded haha)

You don't get a slingshot until the T&T Mart opens, which is after you spend 25,000 bells and 10 days after your gardening store has been opened. As for the hybrids I'd suggest planting them diagonally and watering them daily.

And I have to upgrade? Darn I didn't know that *sob*

Well hopefully I can smack down enough balloons with my net to get the silver slingshot xD

And just looking, axes seem to be going for 50k each, after paying off my home loan and fountain I am at 97k lol, AND my shop just shut....
Well seems I am looking for 1 axe at the moment, that should get me started

Thanks Mayor Leaf, still waiting on my garden store, hopefully should open up tomorrow or next day as I have been playing since Friday and have spent enough in the shop aswell as planted/watered tonnes of flowers

And I have arranged all my flowers diagonally so thats good news ^^
