The kitchen is the only room I still haven't bothered to do...my NL kitchen was awesome, because I had the room. Now I'm not sure what to do...the 2x1 tables in the game don't look right in a kitchen, and the room is now too small to accommodate the kitchen island comfortably. So yeah, as the title suggests, what are people using for counter space....now that the kitchen counter item was removed.
Just curious what people are doing for counter space in their kitchens?

i use the ironwood cabinets. i'd offer to make ya some but dummy me started over and aside from everything in my house i forgot to take my extra diy with me 
on top of all my outdoor stuff i had planed. but anyway yeah the ironwood cabinets work well and i also used the lecture hall desks at one point (even do it in NL). desks work wonders if you angle them right or use two in a row to make it seamless.

You can use things like the fireplace turned around to face the wall. It works well for a counter.

My kitchen is black and white. I took 2 school teachers desks, turned them with the backside to the wall and voila! White kitchen counter tops.
