Just a question about Nook Miles Islanders...

Has anybody encountered a duplicate yet? I just wondered today, if I ran into Lucky on my very first island tour, but passed on him, would I encounter him again at random odds, or does the game actually cycle through the 400+ villagers?

I'm banking on the people trying to find the 'new 8' might have some insight on this...

Yes, for sure, you'll run into the same villager more than once, randomly.

I have seen Bubbles 25 times on my island hunting adventures. You can run into the same villager consecutively, too. One time I ran into her three times in a row.

Others, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but yeah, people have run into duplicates and it rolls for species first. So, it decides on "dog" and then rolls again to decide which one.

Yeah. I had either Pierce or Keaton twice. I think it was Pierce. Also had Hippeaux a few times too.

I ran into Deidre twice on a tour. And I've run into Octavian twice on two separate occasions. I think there were a few others too but I don't remember their names.

Yeah I run into dupes all the time. It kinda sucks but if there's someone you regret not finding it's a chance to see them again.

People have run into duplicates before, sometimes on back-to-back islands.

I have gotten Zucker constantly. Because they randomly roll for species, then specific villager, you're likely to find villagers from low-population species again and again.

Yeah you can. I really wish there was a cool down period to prevent duplicate encounters so quickly.

i got marina as a duplicate and it made me invite her to my island since the universe was clearly hinting at it lmaoo

i saw lucy twice back to back one time, and i wanna say i saw her again after an island but i'm not sure

Yup you can find the same villager several times. The one that loves to haunt me is Rory, the most I've seen him was 4 or 5 times in 1 villager hunting session

I ran into Fang twice within the same three islands, I think it's pretty safe to say that it doesn't cycle through them all haha.

I've encountered Beau twice in less than 10 nmts used, so yes.
