Aren’t you supposed to have shooting stars whenever Celeste is in town? I’ve never had them once. My friends have had shooting stars in their towns, but I’ve never had them in mine.

I’m starting to suspect that my island is glitched.

What the heck? As soon as I posted this, I saw a shooting star??? LOL!

But it was just. Extremely quiet. Maybe I’ve always had them but I never noticed because of how quiet they were. I also noticed they were quiet on my friends islands.

I also asked my friends before about this, they said that the stars are really loud for them. Could there be something wrong with my Switch’s volume?

Usually if Celeste is on your island, you can wish on some stars. Meteor showers are rare but on clear skies with few/no clouds, you can expect to wish on some!

They do make noise, but if you're moving a lot, or speaking to villagers, I'm sure you could miss it. They aren't loud, at least not in my opinion.

Regarding meteor showers, I haven't had a single one yet. Had Celeste several times, though!

Yeah they're pretty quiet. If you're ever near waterfalls, the ocean, or a music player they're even harder to hear. Though if Celeste is on your island there's a guarantee you'll have some stars even if you don't get a meteor shower.

I have Celeste right now and there's some stars, but not enough for a meteor shower (and one wasn't announced this morning either). I recommend going somewhere away from any water/music you might have playing from stereos.

Someone found out thru mining that we are in the worst time of the year for shooting stars. At least until June or so.

Can you cite your source? I believe you. I just want to know where to look for info like that, lol.

I've had celeste only once but I have regular shooting stars occasionally and I had a shower last night (but no Celeste)

Oh crap it was a thread here on the same subject. Whoever it was posted the source and I checked it but I can no longer remember exactly where it came from.

According to the companion guide, there is only a small chance of you having a meteor shower, and some dates can never have any (such as during the Cherry Blossom season).

Celeste will bring some shooting stars on her very first visit, but beyond that there's never a guarantee. She may bring you a few shooting stars on additional visit, but it's only an increased chance at them, no promise of actually getting any.

Datamined information for the spawn rates of NPCs specially had shooting stars accompanying Celeste. What you have to consider is that they shooting stars take place over the entire night, not just when you are playing for a few hours after dark.

I think I may have seen the same thread, and the % chances were for meteor showers I believe - I don't know if they apply to shooting stars in general. The data was from the companion guide, if we're talking about the same thing. At the moment we have a 1% chance of meteor showers.

Edit: The one I saw was the third post down in this thread: https://www.belltreeforums.com/threads/today-i-learned-new-horizons-edition.509886/page-16

I'm the opposite. While I had several minor meteor showers, Celeste only showed up twice for me since release so all these star fragments are pretty useless.

Literally every single time Celeste has visited it has been on a cloudy night for me. I am in the same boat. No meteor showers either... only a couple times have I had stars on my island (literally... a couple times... and only like 5 stars each time...) after about 11pm @.@

Wait, what? But I always have a meteor shower on April 1st if I TT back to it and Isabelle even announces it and Celeste is there and everything. April 1st is when cherry blossom season starts. I don’t think the companion guide is entirely accurate, I remember hearing about other contradictions in it too such as (iirc) golden tool requirements being listed incorrectly.
I also heard very recently that according to datamining, Celeste appears only on dates with meteor shower weather patterns but also only once a week, so if you have multiple meteor showers in a week she picks a random one.
