Super Mario Galaxy 2 is a good game, but Monster Hunter 3 will probably serve you better in the long run.

Go for Tri.
It'll take sometime learning what's there to learn, but when you do, it's extremely fun.

Also, it's a pretty long game. 180+ hours on my file, and I'm only halfway through single player and multiplayer.
