WARNING! LONG WALL OF TEXT AND RANT FULL OF CONSTANT COMPLAINTS!

Like sure, I still think it was worth the money I paid for it and I will still come back to it during holidays and such, but that's about it.

The problem I have with this game is lack of interaction. You really can't spend time with anyone. Whenever I talk to anyone, I get mediocre, short conversations that were okay at first, but after a while they just made me wonder why did I even bother talking to them. Not to mention that if you talk to them too much, they will ask that you leave them alone.

Sure, they can come over your house, but the novelty wears off after a while in my opinion. All they do is make simple-minded complements like "I like your Arcade Machine", "Your house is so cool, I wish I could be room mates with you" or "Your room has nice Feng Shui". If they don't do that, they will use some of the most shallow criticism I have ever heard in my life like "Your room is unorganized" or "Your room is a bit junky". Sure, you can come over their house too, but it gets old too. I mostly did it so I could get furniture from them. However, considering how stingy they are in all animal crossing games, it really isn't worth it.

Also, some of the new stuff in this game is very limited or has no lasting appeal after you have tried it a few times. The whole mayor idea is fun at first, but it's so limited to the point that it really doesn't feel like you have control over anything. The worst part is the fact that they make you do meet this criteria by doing tedious tasks just so you can even start doing anything as mayor.

The public works projects were cool at first, but there is absolutely no point to even doing some of them considering how much they cost to build and even demolish them, not to mention that you can't demolish some public works projects or at least move them. Speaking of that, they have so many limitations. Not to mention that they give some of the worst excuses for why you can't build something in a certain place not to mention that it is sometimes illogical. For example, you can't build anything over a rock. Why can't you just move the rock somewhere else? You can't build a bridge a house or building is on either side ("it could casue problems"). How can that cause problems? A person can easily walk around it. Also, what if the person built the bridge so they could get to that house or building easily? Ordinances are okay, but there really isn't much to it.

Club LOL is a cool addition at first, but their really is no lasting appeal unless you want to listen to K.K.'s music or you like Dr. Shrunk's terrible comedy. And for a club, there really isn't much going on. Someone does come to dance, but that still doesn't give the feel of a party like a real club would.

Kick's Shoe shop and "whatever his name is"'s garden shop are cool additions, but they are just shops.

Happy Home Showcase is exciting at first, but it gets lame quickly, and the only thing I got excited for is ordering furniture in the model homes. Speaking of that, why do they put so many ridiculous and illogical limitations such as not being able to order customized furniture (which they could just give you it for a higher price or just give you the normal one) or only being able to order so many items each day.

The island is fun at first, it has all the exotic and expensive bugs, shellfish and fish. However, after a while the novelty wears off and you will begin to only do this to get money. There are tours you can go on, but they get old after you have played all of them several times. There is Club Tortimer, but there are so many risks to using it and it gets old fast.

However, there is one thing that got me to get bored of this game entirely and made me get bored of the other games. How tedious and time consuming it is to get money. Fishing, bug catching and the like is fun at first, but it gets very boring after a while and it doesn't help that it is the basically the only way to earn money in this game and paying off your house, getting public works projects or buying gracie furniture cost a lot of money.

I agree with your points, obviously the game isn't perfect and there will always be things that need improvement / could have been done better. In general though I think there's a reason for everything, like why you can only order 5 items a day from the Happy Home Showcase or why pwps have certain area restrictions, etc. I guess it depends on what interests you and what you like to do, like I like to set goals for myself that take a while to complete. For example sorting all my trees in town by fruit (2 days), and all my flowers by color (2 days), getting 100 million bells (3 days), laying down more paths and making my town more intricate and pretty, etc. The only thing I haven't finished out of those things is the last one, but that's really something that could go on forever. Maybe you just need to take a break? I got bored around the time college started and didn't play for a few months and only just started playing again a few days ago, and I'm totally into it again.

I'm still having a blast, but I have to agree with your point about the uninspired conversations. I feel like the script is so much more limited than it was in past installments - I hear the exact same things from my villagers everyday.

I play it dayly since release and never get bored. But i'm one of those persons which try to never have much money. This worth it definitly. I start everyday with 0 bells and work for furniture i want :) like in other ac-games, i guess, i will play it that way till the next ac come out and i will never get bored.

Note: this is just my way, i let anyone play however he wants, but i realy think that this bell/dreamy hunting let get the game boring, once you reach everything, you dont know what to do..

Well probably within the next decade we will have human like AI, if Nintendo at that time decides to adapt it Animal Crossing will get way better, I'm not quite bored with the game myself yet, I got it at release. :)
It would be cool if all the villagers had different voices and said different things.

That'll be a LOT of work to do though.

I've had this game for a pretty long time but I never got bored.

I think the thing that bugs me the most is like you said lack of interaction due to the limit of dialogue. I wish Timmy & Tommy would not say oh you want to see my brother or no more point system over and over. But it doesn't mean these things can be improved in the next game :)

I agree with some of your points. Especially the lack of dialogue; once I talked to Mira and she said the same thing 4 times in a row, and then I spoke to Tammy and she said the exact same thing as Mira. But I keep playing to make my town look pretty. And, as for money, I actively buy and sell turnips, so I have 17.5mil sitting in the bank to help me. The game isn't perfect, and probably won't be 100% perfect ever. We just have to work with what's given to us. If you're getting bored, then reset so you can work from the beginning, or take a break and when you come back, who knows, you may feel like playing again.

Or, this game isn't for you. Put it to the side and get on with your social life. :p

In the beginning I played this game hardcore. Since I bought the AC bundle it was my first and only game for it, now I have bought Pok?mon and Kingdom Hearts, I find myself playing the game for an hour max. I am trying my best to design clothes and these are fun if you have the inspiration. My friends gave up quickly on AC too. I just really like the 'you are not obliged to do stuff' vibe. It helps me relax.

I agree the game can get boring. I still play it a lot, but to keep myself interested I have to have things happening in my town, like a new move-in or a camper or an event or something. Most of what I do with AC involves trading and such from these forums now.
I believe there are many good ideas going around, and if Nintendo listens to at least a few of those, the next games can be even more interesting and maybe people won't get as bored.

To me, Population Growing had some of the best dialogue. I don't know why, but they just seem more rich. Kapp'n's shanties had great lyrics, but Nintendo toned them down a lot. The standards may have increased since then, and he also has a young daughter (he mentions he has to be careful what he sings about), so it may be a reflection on that.
The club could use a lot more interactions with it. It seems empty often. Although, this may be more because I seldomly have anyone on Main Street.
Leif's garden shop and Kick's shoe shop may be "just shops", but so is every other store.
Happy Home Showcase exists mostly so a player could get ideas and buy furniture. Not being able to order patterns make sense, but it would be nice to order modified furniture in the original form.
The island was made to get exclusive creatures and to get money. It also helps get new players caught up on some fishes, benthos, and bugs. I don't find many risks on Club Torts other than losing things in your box.
You have to work to earn your money. It's not like it grows on trees. You know what I meant.
Doing that 100% thing never bothered me. It was such a small part of the game.

I expected more from them; and I am mainly talking about the dialogue. Population Growing had a lot of dialogue and characters and the island and in my opinion, PG and NL are neck and neck. However New Leaf is lacking.

Everytime I boot up my seven year old Population Growing file I find new dialogue each time, I barely find anything repeated even when I just talk and talk to the same character and that should be the same to New Leaf. New Leaf should have also had that option to ask for jobs. Sure, they're more likely to ask in New Leaf than, say, Wild World or City Folk, but the option to ask would have been nice.

The island is a nice novelty and it was nice to see it return, but I kind of wish there was more than one. Maybe an Animal Island like found in GCN? the concepts of the NL towns included numerous islands and I wish they did include more than one. The tours are boring after a while IMO.

Clothing seems... limited. We should be able to shine shoes to any colour or create our own pants and skirts. I don't know if they didn't include it because it would have been difficult to program or because people may draw, well, things but the same happens to the shirts. Couldn't they have added any pink/purple trousers? Maybe Sable could dye clothes a certain colour after we befriend her, similar to Cyrus?

The game is a chore to play. You know what I mean. "Oh it's 7PM, better get my emotion for the day and buy ____ or check if my flowers." This is the same for all Animal Crossing games, and you're not required to do anything at all, but it feels like you have to. I only go to K.K. to get a song to complete my collection and T&T has made K.K. Slider's Saturday performances useless, in a way.

You're not exactly a "Mayor". You lil whippersnappers may be more active than ol' Tortimer who comes out every so often for the festivities but really, once you set an Ordinance in place you're unlikely to change it. And then there's PWP's. Villagers need to have high friendship to request anthing and that can take a while even when you're mailing letters 24/7 or rushing round doing favours. They're nice and all but as said in the Original Post, you are limited. I don't see how rebuilding a bridge next to a house which was there before can matter, but a cranky ol' mouse can place his house in the blue roses in front of my workplace? Maybe we could make a uniform our residents are forced to wear or force ugly villagers to move out. Sure, that's a dictatorship, but why do they have so much more freedom? They don't even pay for coffee!

"Animal Crossing: New Leaf" encourages creativity yet it is a demanding game for those who want maximum potential from what it offers. It's very time-consuming.

Room for Improvement
1. More shop options. A restaurant; an ice-cream eatery; a bakery. This game is lacking in food choices. Brewster should have more than coffee.
2. More fruit. I think people would like to have grown strawberries and raspberries. All the fruit is with trees. And it might be cool to grow these next to a human's house.
3. Easier use of paths. I am not an artist. I am not good at designing clothing. And I am definitely not good at designing patterns for paths. I wish for something user-friendly in "Animal Crossing."
4. Less bells required for house upgrades, please! I have four human characters. Seven million for a fully up-to-date house (square foot) is over done.
5. Sooner availability for completed match of themed housing items. For example, I just completed the Rococo series. And the Rococo items came from a house in HH. Had it not been for that, I would not yet reach this point.
6. More availability of HH models. I have just four. And I have been available for receiving HH models for about six weeks. (I didn't have wireless before.)
7. An island where the fish isn't too much a repeat of the town. To give an example, I don't care to fish out Squid or a bass or a Puffer Fish from the island. I go there for the pricier, elite fish.
8. Island games that reward more tokens. The most I've ever had totaled nine. Typically, when I'm doing my best at a game of Tortimer's, I win at best a total of six tokens. It takes too long to build them up (after which can they be applied to buying Island merchandise).
9. I want all characters to respond to emotions. When I wave hello, or I do a gleeful smile, or I am in bliss ? I want all characters to have a reaction.
10. There are too many gyroids. I have opened up one room in the museum to house a lot of gyroids. That is limiting. I have many other gyroids on the town grounds, in the prime area, and I think there are so many that I could fill up four museum rooms with them. Storage is not enough.

Yes, more rants! (I really like looking over big walls of text. xdd)

But I like the game, it gets boring, but It's really cute and I like playing it most of the time. It's not perfect, but It's not bad either.

I'm sorry for being off-topic but could you please tell me how you collected 100 million bells in only three days? O.O

I'm not bored of it, there is always something to do, and i want to keep it with my villagers!
