Heya guys! I thought I'd ask:

Is it weird that I haven't had anyone move out of my town for around 2 months? I've been TTing day by day, and while my hybrids are looking great... No one's left. In ~2 months. March to June.

No one's pinged me. No one's in boxes. Everyone's in the same spot they have been. I've adopted a few villagers, so they're coming in fine. But no one's going out.

I have my development permit. I've talked to my villagers. Some of them have moved in. I had a shop open up. Everything seems completely normal... But literally no one will move out.

Should I be concerned? Or does this just happen sometimes?

Did you just start the game? You said you've had multiple move-ins but none leaving, I think when you first start there is a waiting period where nobody asks for a while...

Yes, that's true, I did just start the game. But this is now my fifth town I've (re-)started, and I've never had this happen?

But I guess if there's a waiting period, I don't need to worry too much!

It does this with me.

Sometimes, when you make a new town, actual in game days need to pass, before time traveling takes into effect ^_^

Oooooh, this would actually make so much sense! Do you suspect that changing the 3DS clock would help, or should I just learn patience?

I think patience is the key. I betcha changing the 3DS clock would work, but then it would mess up the time on all of your games and everything on your system, so I don't recommend it.

Once you've played about 5 days in real time, cycling starts to take into effect :)

actually you just have to talk to villagers until they've told you all the tutorial dialogue, like how to shake trees and fish and stuff

Just talk to them as normal for a few days in game days. Then start ignoring them, don't do anything else. It shouldn't be that difficult since you might not even see them that often in the game.. but they should ping you after a few weeks from my experience

Be careful because sometimes villagers won't tell you that someone is leaving until you've spoken to them a lot. You may talk to everyone in the town 5 times, but that doesn't mean someone isn't leaving.

The "alert" for villagers who intend to leave (when they show ! or shock and then chase after you) doesn't seem to activate if you have a low friendship level with that person to begin with. I knew someone who was leaving because another villager told me, but the moving villager wouldn't tell me about it until I had spoken to them a lot and completed a chore. They then gave the alert.

Alrighty, I talked to everyone about 15 times, TTed through about another month, and hit the 24 hour mark since creating the town, and someone finally pinged! Whew, dunno what did it, but everything seems normal now!
