It is not suppose to be a forgery, help?

Hello, this is my first time posting on this forum. I'm hoping someone can help me figure out what is going wrong. I am playing Animal Crossing City Folk, and my character bought a painting from Redd. Everything I have searched for on the internet says there is no forgery to this painting, the painting is the Nice Painting. But when I took it to the museum to donate it the owl is telling me that it is a forgery. I've compared it to the ones I see on the internet, and they are exactly the same. Any ideas on why this is telling me it is a forgery? For the time being I've put it away in storage at least until I can figure this out.

Hi there.
The mechanic is different in the older games, only in New Leaf you're able to visibly see if the painting's fake. It's random whether the artwork is real or not.
