Can anyone explain to me how you guys figure out your islands weather? Like steps you take?

You go to This site and put in your weather information over time and it will tell you your seed which is the weather pattern for your island. On my first island it took a month of weather info, but my second island got it after about a week. Some people can get their seed quicker from shooting star times, but I always messed up when I tried that.

i don't do it myself because i don't care but there's a website called meteonook and basically you just put in the data on the weather and time and over the next few days as you fill it out it'll start to make predictions

It can be tricky, when putting in information you should not be guessing. I was lucky in that I had screenshots of some shooting stars and a rainbow that helped, and then one night I had shooting stars and marked the time for enough of them that it was able to find my island's seed. I think the clouds and rain and stuff are harder to pin down, so you really want specific data like stars and rainbows (clovers and blue moons lol).

I'd also recommend using shooting star times, especially during a heavy shower. Additionally, if you want some tips, I'd split the screen between the MeteoNook page and an exact clock showing the current time, including the seconds, then check when the minute resets in game - my game was a bit faster than the clock I was using, so it didn't work on my first attempt. I noted the difference, watched the clock, and entered the times I heard shooting stars in-game, then went back and adjusted for the difference in my game time and the time the clock showed. It literally only took me about ten minutes to get it that way, after multiple failed attempts just noting normal weather and meteor showers.

I have found weather seeds for friends before and it take about 30-40 minutes on a heavy shower night for me to find their weather seed. That's without any data from any of the other days. If more stars fall during that time. the faster it is to find it.

If you don't have a heavy shower or don't want to TT back to an old one, you should only input the times the stars fall on light showers, fog, rainbows and double rainbows, and auroras since they are rare weather events. Only input when you found Celeste on your island cause that meant you had a shower that night, most likely it is a light shower cause it's super obvious when it's a heavy shower.

Celeste just means you had a meteor shower, not whether or not it was heavy or light. The ways to tell the differences are whether or not Isabelle and the villagers talk about it, meaning it's a heavy shower (although Isabelle won't announce it if there's other news), or the frequency - during light showers, you'll get rare burst of five stars in a minute, during heavy showers you'll get frequent bursts of five to eight stars.

I'll edit my post to clarify. I meant to say is that you get stars when Celeste is there and it's super obvious if it's a heavy shower even if you don't talk to any of your villagers and Isabelle's announcement for overwritten. From what I've seen is what people would say they get Celeste but no stars but they don't know they got a light shower so they think that for no stars ever

If you decide to look up your weather seed, be warned that adding new players to the island will force the weather to be clear and/or sunny for the remainder of the day. So it can be misleading if you're looking back at older screenshots
