No, not too many people play with Assist Trophies anyway (I personally think they're cheap) and unless she becomes a Cruiser Heavyweight or higher, which I doubt, she's not going to really be used too much in Mario Kart 8. I apologize for being technical here, but really the short answer is no.

I hateheavys in MK8. Mediums are best. Smalls are middle. Large aint that good. Get hit once and it takes forever to get back to speed.

Also Smash Bros. All items on (including assists). MUCH more intense and awesome!
