I have been cycling a lot more lately and it's because I have a problem.

I can't play my main town.
I WANT to, I LOVE it.
But... It's disgusting! literally I have things on the ground everywhere.

Don't think I haven't tried to clean it up, I have!! It's just so overwhelming! I don't want to sell/throw away DLC especially if it's not reorderable and the issue is, I don't exactly know what's DLC anymore, or what I can toss and just buy again later.

I have stuff everywhere that I am going to give my villagers to customize their homes (because I do not care if they are original, especially if I plan to keep them forever). There's gracie things thrown about like trash and items I've spent millions of bells on.. Just laying around.

Does anyone else have this problem??

These pictures are actually old, the problem has escalated.

Are your lockers full? What about your house? You can move at least some of the items to your locker or somewhere in your home. It won't solve the problem but at least it'll clean things up a little until you can come up with a better idea.

If you're already doing that and have run out of room, have you thought of making secondary characters? Even if you only keep them for a little while, they offer more locker and house space. Its a temporary fix, you can decide on what you're keeping and selling later.

I try really hard to keep my town clean and mantained, my biggest problem these days is the grass wear. I try really hard not to run or even walk on the grass, but since the grass colour has changed the wear is even more visible. Also it'd help if my villagers stopped planting yellow and red flowers when I'm primary using white flowers. I think they're trying to upset me.

My one town is getting super messy because I'm tearing down all of the PWPs to try and remake the town so it doesn't look so sloppy.

But my town used to have a LOT of stuff littered all around and I hated it.

It may be time consuming, but what helped me was finding the stuff that I couldn't re-order or eventually rebuy, like Gracie stuff or special event items that I could eventually pick up again later.

House is full (not decorated, just FULL of things.) I have 2 secondary characters whos lockers and houses are both full. Keeping 1 slot open for plot resetting. I tried putting everything on the beach once so I could sort through it... and then I filled that up too. I started moving things over to my boyfriends town to sort and...well.. you can probably guess what happened

Yikes, that seems overwhelming.

Make some additional characters to keep some stuff in their lockers and home! That way it would get rid of a lot of the clutter. The second floor of the museum is also really good for storage!

With the Gracie items, if you're not using them now, just sell them on here. You'll definitely get more than what you paid for them and you can always buy them back again once you have more space!

Ah yeah, my museum is jam packed. Though I could try selling the gracie items on here. Just have to figure out what they are lol.

I need a website that I can just post in a search box "item" and it tells me whether it can be re-ordered or not. This needs to be a thing. lol

I've been there.. What I did was, after a few weeks of living in garbage, cleaning my closet. I know lots of people say that, but take all the re-orderable stuff out of your locker and sell it. I had a bunch of random tees, pants, furniture that were re-orderable so I sold them. But you could also (if you're really desperate) put stuff in the letters you got from your villagers.

Right now I'm searching for a map so I currently don't have a town. The area around my train station was usually a mess, and sometimes the beach. I always wanted a perfect town rating, so I had to clean it up. Anyway, good luck!

Mine isn't anywhere near that packed ovo
I have more flowers than I know what to do with but its pretty bare other than that... too bare.. I can't stand it being so empty OTL

Don't worry, my town is the same way. I have a bunch of rare/ unorderables giftwrapped for a giveaway I've been planning ^^ Hopefully that helps reduce the problem @w@

I hope the next "New Leaf"-like "Animal Crossing" has greater storage space and flexibility to design towns which are more cleanly organized and less time-consuming to build up and maintain. (I want an ordinance for zoning control. That was needed in "New Leaf.")

lol omg the state of my town has never been like this. i hoard but i hate clutter so i just end up selling things when i need more room, so i've never had items lying around on the ground for more than a day. but yeah, i agree with selling them on here. lots of people are looking for dlcs and unorderables especially, so if you ever feel up to sorting out which things are which, it could be a nice way to relieve clutter and make some tbt or igb.

My town isn't messy apart from the flowers. I hate my pockets being unorganised, so letting my town get messy isn't an option.

I've been busy with uni so I haven't touched my game since late September. I don't think I had the beautiful ordinance set, so it's likely in rough-ish shape.

I have a hording problem with unorderables, I have this massive 'free stuff' pile in front of my train station for visitors and then almost never have visitors due to my antisocial/lazy nature. One time I did had a visitor who was looking for art and I had everything they were missing, that's both an example of how bad it gets and a justification to keep doing it.

I started hoarding any items that are non-reorderable/DLC for almost a whole year now. My museum, lockers, and saved post office letters all got so full that I had to create a second character to hold all my other items.. Flash forward to a few months ago, and my second character's saved letters and locker are completely full (/__\). So now I still have a ton of things laying on the ground even though I cleared out some storage not long ago. I just can't stop hoarding items lol..

Actually, moriDB is a pretty good site for doing that. ^^ You can search any item and a catalog/book icon appears next to the item's purchase price if it can be ordered from the catalog. I don't know if it's 100% accurate with every item though, but from my experience it's been really useful!!
