U know what i mean.. My island is nowhere near done.. i was contemplating reseting for a while so i didnt feel compelled to put in so much effort into the designing time still ive played 350 hours or so.. how many hours have you played and how close to being done are you? Id say im about 15% done... i have used a lot of time mentally planning the island.. but i havent put my all into it just yet...its definetely getting somewhere though!
Yeah I e reset before and it’s not really worth it in my opinion unless you absolutely hate everything lol. I have about the same amount of hours put in as you! Idk what percent I’d say I’m at. If someone came over and guessed they would say maybe 50% because things are set up for the most part but I’m not anywhere near to being done. A lot of areas are temporary and I don’t plan on keeping it that way, I just want it to look nice in the process of getting there.^_^
No... I'm only about 25% done with mine... and I'm okay with that. For the record I've poured north of 500 hours into my island so far.
I am so proud of myself for not resetting. For a while I was really tempted to, but I finally decided to make do with what I have and I've largely succeeded in not looking back (Sometimes I look at my rock placements and wish they weren't all in the top edges of my beaches, but I'll find a way to make them work! Sometimes I also wish I had kept reset until I got cooler looking rock formations too, like the ones with water, but that's okay!).
Not even close. I struggle to find the motivation to put in the tedious work of fixing my island and making it look nice. I'm happy keeping it as a slow progress. I am in no rush, this is the main ac game for some time afterall.
I didn't actually start putting the pedal to the medal as far as designing my island goes until towards the end of May, and I am just now, as in this week, seeing it all come together. I personally love how long it takes, though. I considered my New Leaf town an eternal work in progress, and I'm sure my island will be the same.
I finally arranged my villager houses the way I wanted to (three neighborhoods with different feels to them- a quiet one, one that feels like it's in the middle of nature with flowers and waterfalls, and the main street neighborhood). I've been working on some outdoor spots outside of the houses and the outdoor decorations for the houses, but I've only got the area in front of the shops and the museum finished for now. That'll be my next project!
I wouldn't worry too much about not having your island "done" yet. It's never really done. :d
Am I the only one who's never going to be "done" and has no intentions to be? I keep seeing everyone talking about "finishing" their islands but... I'd get so BORED if I was truly "done". I'm looking at my island as being dynamic. I can and will change it when I get inspired, and I look forward to getting new ideas and thinking of how I'm implement them when the time comes! I'm happy with my island as it is right now, but I'm also always on the lookout for ways to improve it.
I mean, I get the appeal of looking at an island and feeling satisfied like... yes, this can't get any better. But, like I said, if I felt finished I'd feel like I basically "beat" the game. And if I beat the game, I'd feel like I needed to restart to play again, y'know?
mine was basically done but i decided i hated how flat my main “town center” sort of area was so i moved all my buildings to the beach and tore it all down! i’m working on redoing it now and loving it so much more. however now it has set me way back so i’d say my island is about 60% done. i kept the half that is forest and my residential cliffs the same, though.
My island is mostly done aside from areas I'm willing to demolish if updates give us stuff I like enough to display outside I've definitely changed areas I've considered finished a few times, so nothing is really ever truly finished.
Nope, not at all. I thought I was maybe 75% done...but I just decided to scrap my whole town and switch it up a bit. I would say now I’m only about 25% done.
It's hard to pinpoint where exactly I am with my island currently. I have all but two of my permanent animal villagers living in the town now, and also plan to make two more player characters to reach the limit of 8 player characters. I need to move a few houses around and, while I initially had some grandiose plans about everyone living on the third, top level of the island, I don't know that I really want to bother with that anymore. Once I move my main character's house, as well as the Jock and Sisterly villagers' houses, I'll be able to spread out my island's shops a bit more than they currently are.
I’ll never be done, as new items releases and new ideas appear in my head, my island will always be changing. That’s how I like playing, otherwise I’ll get bored and feel the need to reset. Though, with being able to move buildings and rocks, I can just keep remaking ideas in infinite of ways.
I'd say the bones are definitely in place. Buildings are all where I want them. There is still tweaking to landscaping and a few areas I haven't decided on yet, but I'm getting there. I've reached the point where I'm not apologizing if someone comes over.
My island is probably only 10% "done" since I keep redoing things and changing my mind after many hours. :'3c
I have 540 hours clocked in but I'd say half of that is island hopping haha.
Nope lol, I'm probably like 30% - 35% done? Idk maybe even lower, the only decorated part of my island is on my right part of my island but it's not even finished, the left part of my island is where my villager houses, shops, museum is at atm to why I don't decorate there yet, probably will move my villager houses at the beach once I start working on the left part of my island...
