Is this really what you wanted, Whitney?

Okay, so those who have Whitney know that today is her birthday. I went to see her and gave her a gift (a corseted shirt since is her favorite color and style). Now, I know for sure that when they don't like a gift they actually tell you, they say things like "this isn't exactly what I was expecting", so when I gave her the shirt, she said that it was exactly what she wanted, but SHE DIDN'T TRY IT ON RIGHT IN THE MOMENT like others do when they like their presents. I was thinking to reset to try and give her the blue ringmaster coat (althought is not her favorite color). I know is not that big of a deal, but I really like my villagers to be happy.

What do you think? This is the first birthday I have with her or with a snooty villager in general, so I don't know if this is something normal for them...

I gave Yuka a kettle, which was right up her alley, and she didn't put it on display. I gave Lolly a Sunset Tee, though, and she put it on right away, and wore it for a LONG while.

lol now I'm not sure if she really liked my gift xD that one is not one of her recommended gifts. So I don't know if snooty villagers are not sincere with what they feel?

I think Whitney didn't try it on right away because it was her birthday. If it had been a regular day, she could've put it on. Well, that's what I think that makes the most sense, anyway xD

It's actually kinda random whether or not they'll wear the shirt you give them on their birthday. Sometimes they do, and sometimes they don't. So don't feel too bad that Whitney didn't try it on. Since she stated that she liked it, it should be fine. If you have alternate characters, you could have them give Whitney the same shirt (or other shirts that she may like) in hopes of her trying it on if you really want her to change her outfit. lol

You're very sweet for being so concerned about your villagers happiness on their birthday! I know full well when it was Eriks birthday I gave him something he didn't like....can't remember what it was now even, it wasn't something he proudly displayed though. His response was a bit meh when I gave it him so I knew I'd made a mistake. It's the thought that counts?

Sometimes they do that. I got Zell a shirt that'd look really good on him, and it was what he liked. He didn't try it on but he did display it later. Keep an eye out for that

I think it's possibly because she's a snooty villager or she could have that shirt in her inventory already. I know Pudge did this to me when I gave him a shirt for his birthday, although it wasn't present in the room he wouldn't try it on because he already had it. It's been such a pain to try and get him to change his shirt, and so far I still haven't managed to get him to do it. He said he'd add it to his shirt collection.

Just gave her an acid-washed jacket from Gracie's. She said, "Wow- you really know what I like!" then put it away. I'm fine with that because I prefer my villagers to not change their outfits.

It is kind of weird for me, cause usually when is a villager birthday I give them clothes they like from the thonky guide, and they try it on right away. And I know for sure that when they don't like a present they tell you so. But I've never been in the situation of "yeah I love this present" and to not try it on right away. But oh well, villagers have always been so random. Whitney is one of the villagers that when I send clothes in letters, she wears them always, no miss. But now in her birthday, she doesn't lol

Well, the fact that I have recieved like 5 or 6 pics of her might seem to be the proof of a good friendship level with her.
