Is there any way to move your house without starting over?

I looked around but i didn't where this had been asked yet or maybe i just overlooked it. Anywho, i love the layout of my town, most of the villagers and most everything else about it but i couldn't tell how close my house was to the edge of the river when Nook was showing me what it looked like. So for some reason it bothers me though i'm trying to ignore it and learn to love it.

Is there a way to tear it down (i'm still in a tent) without starting over? Have any of you ever started over due to house placement or some other reason?

Hiya, the only way to tear down and rebuild is to make a new character and then delete the one who's house placement you don't like. Though I believe you cannot delete your mayor character without redoing your whole town.

If you already saved after that... Sorry, you'd have to reset.

The mayor's house is permanent. That includes the tent. I restarted a couple of times because I realized I didn't pick the right spot.

Mayors house is perminent. If it's a non mayor character you can reset that house but if it's the mayor you have to reset

Pooo. It's the mayor's house i'm wanting to move ever so slightly. I think i like my layout and villagers too much to start over though...

Yeah i knew you could with a non mayor character but i was crossing my fingers it would work with the mayor too. I really wish they had it so you could move your house without starting over. Oh well, i will learn to love it. haha
