Is there a way to make the boy villagers wear pants?

I gave Lucky the mummy outfit........and he is wearing it like a dress.

Unfortunately, none of the villagers can wear pants/skirts (despite some of them mentioning that they've worn a pair every once in a while). The best thing you could do is just keep gifting him white or gray clothing (if you still want to go for that mummy look) that isn't from the Dress Up category, such as shirts or tanks. You could also make a custom pattern (to display at Able Sisters) and hope that he eventually decides to try it out himself.

That’s.. such a cute way of looking at it. They’re little fools. Also they sometimes mention shoes. But never wear them... i think they just know the basic idea of shoes but not anything else about it TwT

After some bad experiences, I now go to Harv's island and let my villagers try on clothes before gifting anything. Things can definitely look different on the hanger.

I just wish certain things didn't automatically turn into dresses like the mummy outfit and skeleton outfit some of the onesies turn into shirts so I wish those ones turned into shirts instead since it would make more sense..

I saw Hopkins sitting on the beach one day and I wasn't about pass up taking some pictures. I'm glad he didn't get up, either, because villagers seem like they're camera shy.

I think some clothes work differently and won't look like a dress.
I think the jockey uniform, suit of light, figure skating costume, mariachi clothing, steampunk costume and jinbei doesn't look like a dress on them, if I remembered correctly, they look almost same like a shirt.
But the sprite costume and farmer overall definitely become a dress for them.
